to have expected my 5 and 3 yo boys to sit still for 20 minutes in a cafe after school today?

I think you are expecting a bit much, but I don't know your children. It has been a long and exhausting week for my school's 5 year olds. To quote one of my nephews "I've run out of goodness". I've seen quite a bit of this missing "goodness" as they all walked home!

you have my sympathy OP my two played merry hell today. all I needed was 3 minutes to give a quick on street interview and they had to stand beside me quietly. they are 8 and 4. did they stand quiety? did they fuck! 4 year old bolted up the street and 8 year old after him then kicked me when I brought him back! fuming is not the word. there have been stern words.

I knew my 2YO was going to be an arsehole this week when I tried to go for coffee. She excelled herself. It's the triumph of hope over experience isn't it?
