So is "funner" a word? My DCs think so. I insist that it should be "more fun" but if I am right now how long before THEY are?

I'd smile if they were 3 Captain, they are between 12 and 20!

This drives me barmy!

I've had one or two pupils who say things like "I wish school was funner"

I'm tempted to reply; "Yeah? And I wish I had pupils who were articulater!" Hmm

I've only ever heard it in Legally Blonde.

"OMG! It'll be like last summer! But, like, way funner!" Or something.

Yes, but Americans say things like "I dove into the pool" or "I snuck away"

I was once told that I was "much more funner" than my sister....by our little 6 year old cousin.
So it is a word now :)

"I won him"??

Not heard that... Yet.

It's on a par with one of my other pet hates: saying something is on "the floor" when it is outside Angry

It is on the ground if it is outdoors. Floors are inside buildings.

Yes - it's funnerer quite obviously.

Fun, funner, funnerer. That's how it goes.

It is much more harder. AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Much more - leave it at that. Harder - leave it at that. Together: NEVER!

Funner? NEVER, EVER, EVER!

The other one DS uses: "It was so fun." NO NO NO NO NO!!! It was so MUCH fun.

Is English actually taught in schools nowadays?

(PS all grammatical and spelling errors in this post are intended in an ultra cool kind of ironic way. Innit!)

Don't Americans also use "darling" as an adjective? Shock

"Oh that baby/dress/house is soooo darling"

It took me ages to get that. Grin

My family and I all look at each other open mouthed? When will she stop speaking like a toddler? Next she will be asking for cutted up pear Ffs Confused

I think Apple use funner too.

It is very wrong and an excellent reason to avoid them.

I knew a guy once who was teaching his daughter how to drive. She was approaching a junction too quickly and he was saying "brake... Brake....BRAKE!"

And she shouted back 'I've broken!!"
