AIBU to think that Kirstie Allsop has completely lost the plot!

Watching "Fill your house for free" and can't help wondering, not only, who has the time but who really wants a washing machine drum coffee table? hmm

Sparklingbrook Tue 06-Aug-13 20:48:54

I have just stumbled on this. So it has gone from home made crap to free crap? That coffee table is shite.

solveproblem Tue 06-Aug-13 20:48:57

I actually like the washing drum coffee table! But I've got no taste.

Poor Gemma!

Sparklingbrook Tue 06-Aug-13 20:49:54

Eating dinner at the coffee table, and spilling his drink.......

BeQuicksieorBeDead Tue 06-Aug-13 20:51:23

I have had to put it on now. Cheers mumsnet.

Already annoyed at the way she says hard graft. Phlurgh!

peanutbuttersarnies Tue 06-Aug-13 20:51:46

What piprabbit says!

Sparklingbrook Tue 06-Aug-13 20:52:17

I don't want anything lurking in my neighbour's shed. angry

Listen up Kirstie, if you have to buy extra stuff to convert an item or employ professionals to make it then IT ISN'T FREE

^ this
Plus the episode I saw a couple of weeks ago she recommended driving around (with free petrol one assumes confused) and looking for skips. And they seemed to freecycle over a massive area collecting tat stuff. Surely all that petrol, and man hours driving around mean you may as well Argos it?

They've had to scour the UK for everything!

Rinoachicken Tue 06-Aug-13 20:55:55

Pretty sure it's illegal to take things from a skip!

Onesleeptillwembley Tue 06-Aug-13 20:56:51

£700? Fuck off!

EmpireBiscuit Tue 06-Aug-13 20:57:49

£416 excluding labor isn't free in my world!

EmpireBiscuit Tue 06-Aug-13 20:58:07

Should it be labour?

SarahAndFuck Tue 06-Aug-13 20:59:49

"Pretty sure it's illegal to take things from a skip!"

I think it's okay if you ask. As Kirsty reminds everyone to do every five seconds.

Skips around here are usually filled with rubble and the occasional plastic patio set that someone set on fire.

Sparklingbrook Tue 06-Aug-13 21:01:09

I have never seen anything remotely interesting in a skip.

Rinoachicken Tue 06-Aug-13 21:02:26

Ok fair enough, learn somehow new everyday!

I'm off to go skip rummaging! not

ManicMinor Tue 06-Aug-13 21:03:51

It might be slightly more believable for her to turn herself into some frugality-credit-crunch interior designer if she herself wasn't loaded and the daughter of a Baron...

... nah, it would still be shite.

KenDoddsDadsDog Tue 06-Aug-13 21:04:08

I'm going to varnish one of my shites and turn it into a bedside table.

CountryWisdom Tue 06-Aug-13 21:04:33

is this going to be on plus 1?
Gutted I missed it!
She made a door out of an old radiator one week, or sommat

I found an oak stool in a skip once. That was something nice for my home for free. None of her stuff is.

Onesleeptillwembley Tue 06-Aug-13 21:10:55

Kendodds if you had her contacts you could turn that into a 3 part mini series!

KenDoddsDadsDog Tue 06-Aug-13 21:11:53

grin

Don't even get me started on the HUGE grammatical error in the title of the show! It makes my teeth itch....angry

HarrietSchulenberg Tue 06-Aug-13 21:23:07

I couldn't watch the one where she carved up some perfectly good coffee tables and stuck them to a wall as a bookcase.

I have a feeling that her viewers are going to be desecrating lovely furniture to turn it into something that they think is cutting edge, but is actually horrible tat.
