to think anyone contributing to a Christmas thread in July needs to find a life?

They're popping up already.

Instead of planning Christmas now, go out and enjoy the summer.

I need to hide the Christmas topic until December, don't I?

maybe the need to plan for Christmas financially and find the threads useful?

Christmas talk can start in December.

I do not wish to talk about it. I dont want to see it in stores til then. I have birthdays to get through first

Ahhh the Mardy Christmas complaining thread. Must be time to start planning as soon as this pops up.

I start thinking about Christmas around the 20th December so it is not smoke thing I understand if I am being honest.

Ssd is right though that some people have to budget .

It's raining near me today and it's making me feel all Christmassy!

As an online retailer my Christmas starts in the next week or so. Planning, buying and selling stock. Last year August - November was my busiest period ever. I though August would be quiet due to the hols but it was mad.

Glad to be of use OvO.

If you need to plan financially for Christmas, save some money for it. Doesn't mean you need to be talking about gift choices and dinner arrangements.

Yanbu, OP.

I'll give you mid-way through November. TBF however, some of us live in different countries and do need to plan Christmas months in advance. I have to think about posting parcels in September because my last post date is in October. Doesn't mean the rest of you have to suffer, though.

Instead of planning Christmas now, go out and enjoy the summer.

Instead of starting threads whinging about people planning Christmas now, go out and enjoy the summer grin

If I only started thinking about Christmas in December then DS would get very little as I need to spread the cost out. I also buy things when they are reduced so I need some idea what I am getting.

Nobody is forced to read or post on any thread so if you don't like christmas threads then ignore them.

I've already started my Christmas shopping.... blush

Just eases the pressure later on what with us having a low ish income and everything.

Squitten Wed 31-Jul-13 16:42:33

I have to plan for Xmas now. I'm having DC3 in late Oct/early Nov and then have DS2's birthday 4wks later. If I don't plan Xmas now, my kids won't have one!

MardyBra Wed 31-Jul-13 16:43:00

But you might buy something now and change your mind nearer the date about what the ideal present might be.

MardyBra Wed 31-Jul-13 16:43:54

I take on board the financial planning thing.

Isn't this a Christmas thread?

drinkyourmilk Wed 31-Jul-13 16:44:33

My income is set to drop dramatically. I'm rubbish at saving. Therefore I've just about finished my Xmas shopping.

I buy Lego and playmobil all year when I see it on offer, then put it away for Christmas. It would be daft not to buy at half price.

Sirzy Wed 31-Jul-13 16:45:16

That's the risk you have to take. I tend to leave the ""main" present to closer unless its a bargain but buy stocking filler types in sales.

AnnabelleLee Wed 31-Jul-13 16:45:22

you need to plan in july or they won't have one? What on earth do you do at christmas that needs 6 months of planning? Buy a few gifts, order a turkey. Done.

wonderingsoul Wed 31-Jul-13 16:45:36

you dont have to read it..so whats your problem?

MardyBra Wed 31-Jul-13 16:46:53

"you need to plan in july or they won't have one? What on earth do you do at christmas that needs 6 months of planning? Buy a few gifts, order a turkey. Done."
