agree hotair, you should use the park exactly as you please. Quite apart from anything else, if she is ill, she wont be rational, so if it isnt this, it will be something else.

So often people say jokingly, "she needs to remember her medication" but perhaps in this case, whoever is supporting her genuinely does need to tweak something and perhaps it will all calm down.

But if she is ill (and I am only guessing, after all) then I dont think she intended to insult you or be arrogant in quite the same way as a well person. She may just have lost it a bit.

I think you should organise a Fun Day to be held there ( with bouncy castle, brass band etc) and raise money to be spent on new equipment for the park. Possibly a Teen Shelter?! grin

I would have taken the sign down for wrong use of an apostrophe grin

Sounds as if she is ill. Sad for her, and she will probably be a very annoying neighbour. I expect her social or health worker will be round to tell her to stop this.

Icelollycraving Tue 30-Jul-13 20:13:45

Oh,really suprised at that!

ChippingInHopHopHop Tue 30-Jul-13 18:19:15

Icelolly - no you can't, but you can be told they don't smile

One of the houses that looks out onto my little local playpark has put a tinted film over their windows like you get on car windows so you can see out but you can't see in. That seems reasonable if you don't want blinds or nets up, expecting nobody to use the park ever is mad.

That's like the bloke up my road who bangs on his window everytime someone walks past his car (which is parked on the street.)

I like to let my dog's sniff it as we go past just to wind him up. Odd thing is that he has an empty drive with gates but doesn't use it. hmm

Some people are bonkers.

I suspect the pcso may have warned her that if she repeats her behavior she'll be charged with breach of the peace.

Icelollycraving Tue 30-Jul-13 18:10:37

Can you be told if someone has history of violent behaviour by a pcso? hmm

Ooh-you took away evidence against her!

We need another update later to find out if she has been taken away in handcuffs/ men in white coats/ has put up another sign! grin
I didn't mean to imply that all teenagers hang around drinking/ that OP lives in a rough area or any other slurs, I was just trying to find another explanation for why someone would put up a ridiculous sign, as I found it hard to believe that anyone would do this.

Brilliant. Bonkers people. Who needs the telly?

ImNotBloody14 Tue 30-Jul-13 17:58:00

Oh wow! She has issues i think- glad the pcso is going to give her a bollocking little chat

SingingSands Tue 30-Jul-13 17:55:20

Just crossed posts with your update! Curious behaviour.

SingingSands Tue 30-Jul-13 17:54:11

I've heard of some odd requests in my time, but that one takes some beating! Requesting people not to use a playpark? How bizarre! How would you be impinging on their privacy anyway? It's not like you had gone to play in their back garden.

Nowt as queer as folk...

IceNoSlice Tue 30-Jul-13 17:54:01

parakeet grin

ImNotBloody14 Tue 30-Jul-13 17:53:37

Write 'no' under the sign and stick it back up again
