AIBU?

For those who watch the food network channel

AIBU ..well no, i'm bloody not, anyways, heres me watching the food channel, and they're doing a "sponsered by" before each programme, and in the ol breaks. Its Tabasco sauce, which is lovely, but they have a load of faces around this magical sauce, poking their tongues out, and either imaging doing oral sex, or just being weird! Honestly, its awful!

Or AIBU and just jealous that theres a talent for it?..Grin

Eh? Tongues out or oral sex mime? And what would the connection be with Tabasco (not natural companions - ouch!)? I possibly need to see the ad...

It's got to be better than the smugness that is Ina Garten (imo, of course).

Don't watch the channel much, these days, as I've already seen most of it 16 times over, but that sounds dire.

Anyone seen Bitchin' Kitchen? So painful that it's compulsive viewing. Her nails completely squick me out.

Honestly! Watch it and see, all i can say is fair play that they can do it so well, (lucky patrners, or Tabacso, whatever is hotter!!) Grin
Ina gets on my TITS! I'm sorry, but her and hubby annoy me! (though i'm sure they're lovely) xx

Giving a blow job with a mouthful of Tabasco? I can think of a few candidates for that particular form of torture! Grin

Bitchin Kitchen lady scares me! She reminds me of a female gino, only scarier!! And her recipies are knock offs old! x

The Food Network channel is fascinating. I am weirdly obsessed with Dners, Drive-Ins and Dives but Bitchin' Kitchen is inexplicable and terrible. Ina Garten IS incredibly smug, isn't she?!

I love the Food Network but that Nadia G is just shamefully appalling. How she ever got onto tv, let alone as a "chef" is beyond belief. Awful, cringeworthy, embarrassing filler-shit.

I do love Guy Fieri though Blush.

I'd love to slide down Ina's lovely varnished floor in my socks though! (This is NOT a euphemism Grin

Bitchin kitchen is sooooo painfully addictive. I do watch this channel slot and I can never see how half these chefs Mage these quantities or times work. Roast chicken in 45 mins? How did all those onions caramelise in a teeny splash of oil. ?

I bloody heart and soul love Ina Garten and Jeffrey too. Ina used to work at the white house as a nuclear something or other fact.
There must be someone else who adores her too out there!
I love her gorgeous model friend TR he's soooooo handsome.

What I don't get about Ina is that she cooks up intimate meals for 2 - 12 portions at a time. So you can enjoy "leftovers" Hmm

But gaggia, she always wears shoes - Trading Standards should be informed....

I do like ina just I've not managed to get the recipes to work. The peach cake was nice just very heavy. The butter/flour /sugar ratio seemed weird. A lot more flour than previously made sense to me. The pecan short bread was nice but a bastard to get to stick together and roll out. It's not smooth like on the show.

I tried the nadia g coconut tofu chocolate tart thing, the fat to coconut ratio didn't work it didn't stick base together.

Well, i now know what Kocher Salt is, because of Ina, (educated)
gaggia is he not gay?
And yes she has a great sense of humour with that "seasame street" character, on the beach! Och i like her as well, but its those tongues in the adds that IABU about!!! Grin

I am not much of a cook at all, but I enjoy watching Ina. I think she has a very warm and pleasant personality. She and Jeffrey have been together since they were teenagers, and he obviously adores her.

I especially appreciate that Ina regularly features her openly gay friends and their partners on her show. (Some commentators have observed that the increasing acceptance of gay rights in the US can be partly traced to the appearance and depiction of gay couples on television.)

Three restaurants in my town have been on Diners and Drive-ins, one of which DH and I go to often. Smile

i love Jeffrey! Their little staged dinners crack me up. The only thing I've ever actually made of Ina's is her lemon yoghurt loaf cake, via smittenkitchen.com, which I must have made a hundred times. It's AMAZING. Oh and her chicken pot pies, again, via SK I think.

I would LOVE to visit sme of the DDD places!! I have to admit though, the best thing about that show is seeing all the massively lardy customers eating deep-fried burgers and the like, and feeling a lot better about yourself afterwards ;)

I do watch the Food Network but I have to admit it's only to watch Man vs Food. Bitchin Kitchin makes me cringe and I'm not usually bored enough to watch the others.

Barefoot Contessa have some up with some good things though thinking about it.

Has anyone else noticed though, how Americans seem to make their cheese sauces in a bizarre way. No roux in sight just cream boiled and reduced, looks vile
