to think no matter how hot it is, you should keep your shirt on in public?

Places like beaches and swimming pools excluded of course.

But walking around Tesco? I don't want to see anyone's sweaty nipples! Keep your top on!
(i'm boiling in this heat but trust me, no one wants me to whip my shirt off in the shopping centre!)

Yes. I agree. i did have a thread along similar lines a while ago. It got a bit flamey. grin

I saw a topless man on a bike with his arse hanging out of his trousers today. And yes, I had to look as I was behind him. Bleurgh.

I don't want to see fuzzy nipples while I am shopping either.

Khaleasy Wed 17-Jul-13 18:19:18

Oh no, I will get my bun shield out then! grin

SixPackWellies Wed 17-Jul-13 18:24:39

Agree! Agree!

Unless it is my 3 year old who is uber cute.

[walking along in shorts, no shirt, sunglasses licking an ice cream. That's different I think].

But grown men (or women), no thanks.

Children don't count really. Anything to stop a hot-day melt down!

2cats2many Wed 17-Jul-13 18:27:42

It doesn't bother me in the slightest, but then I walk around the house naked all the time. Nipples don't trouble me.

I honestly don't understand why people are so squeamish about this - it's just a man's chest, for goodness sake, not a pair of sweaty balls! Trust me, at 39 weeks pregnant, the only emotion I feel when I see a man with his shirt off in this heat is jealousy!

YANBU. I know others will disagree, but I don't think it's so hot that people need to be stripping off. It's especially not too hot inside tesco.

filee777 Wed 17-Jul-13 18:32:49

I hate it.

Sparklingbrook Wed 17-Jul-13 18:35:37

I don't want chest pubes in my fruit and veg/baked goods.

filee777 Wed 17-Jul-13 18:35:38

By the way, can some one fill me in on what the 'lingo' is?

What does YANBU and similar mean? Did I miss something in the welcome email?

Wommer Wed 17-Jul-13 18:36:40

Yanbu.
I have a particular problem with this in supermarkets...
All those open baskets of fruit and veg being LEANED over by sweaty hairy armpits...
boak shockshockshock

a bit off putting to be sure.
unless they look like ryan Reynolds and then it should be policy that they take everything off;)

Sparklingbrook Wed 17-Jul-13 18:39:31

'You are not being unreasonable' filee.

LynetteScavo Wed 17-Jul-13 18:43:16

yanbu

Clothes were invented for a reason.

covering flabby bellies and hairy nipples is just one. On people of either sex.

miffybun73 Wed 17-Jul-13 18:47:30

YANBU. It's usually outside dodgy looking pubs that you see topless men with very bad sunburn to complete the look.

I have never seen anyone without their top on in a supermarket. Does this really happen ? shock

Burmobasher Wed 17-Jul-13 18:50:24

Yanbu,
It makes me feel a bit icky, I don't know why

allaflutter Wed 17-Jul-13 18:52:20

filee, look at Acronyms section above the messages, too manby to explain in a post.

Chivetalking Wed 17-Jul-13 18:53:58

Yanbu.

Years back I saw sweat dripping off some man's exposed hairy pits and into the freezers. I still have now words for the horror.

Chivetalking Wed 17-Jul-13 18:54:42

no

FFS hmm

Buzzardbird Wed 17-Jul-13 18:57:28

Oh jesus chive, I thought they were garlic prawns!

BeansAndToast Wed 17-Jul-13 18:58:36

I feel like that. A lot of them have bigger breasts than me. I do think that if they can walk around without a shirt I should be allowed to do the same. Not that I want to but the whole thing annoys me.

Pantone363 Wed 17-Jul-13 18:59:36

No shirt, no shoes, no service.

It's a PITA for me as I never wear shoes in the summer so keep emergency flip flops in the car.

Although I understand why no shirt, but what's wrong with no shoes? Feet can't be any dirtier than the soles of shoes so I can't see the problem.

Crinkle77 Wed 17-Jul-13 19:01:29

Depends on the bod. If it someone, fit, tanned and toned then I wouldn't mind but unfortunately there aren't many of those.

OnTheNingNangNong Wed 17-Jul-13 19:01:58

YANBU. It is not nice. I would also like to ask that people stop wearing a bikini top and skimpy shorts to do the morning school run. Just put on a t-shirt.

I don't want to see your body when I'm taking my DC to school.
