When i peg my washing out and bring it back in again i leave the pegs pegged onto the line. According to my Dad & Stepmum & my mum, its lazy.

Is it?

Shallishanti Wed 10-Jul-13 20:17:52

M0naLisa Wed 10-Jul-13 20:19:36

I leave mine on,those plastic storm pegs,no metal so no rust.

I wipe the line before hanging out and no yuck on clothes etc yet. Tbh, if anyone near me thought I was idle I wouldn't care as I think I am the only one hanging washing out anyway!

MaureenMLove Wed 10-Jul-13 20:30:13

I have far more exciting things to do in my life, than to take the pegs off the line after I've taken all the clothes in! I don't wipe the line if it's rained either shock Neither do I put it down when I'v finished and cover it up! (mainly because it's stuck in the 'up' position though!)

MrsMook Wed 10-Jul-13 20:30:14

I leave mine on. I don't care if it's idle.

noblegiraffe Wed 10-Jul-13 20:32:44

I flirted with this system for a couple of weeks then realised it was really pissing me off not having the pegs in the right places. Too many pegs on one bit, not enough on the other. And they attracted spiders.

I've gone back to taking them off and I'm happier for it.

BMW6 Wed 10-Jul-13 20:35:44

I leave mine on, life is too short.

However if you MUST take them off so as not to be a common slut, here's how to make a pegbag

1. take a carrier bag (type according to ego/class
2. tie to washing line by one or both handles according to taste

Hey Presto! Be the envy nof your neighbours

froubylou Wed 10-Jul-13 20:36:23

Mine were on all winter. And I didn't wipe the line before I used it. I just hung dps dark work clothes on it first.

And whilst we are talking about being idle with laundry I tumble dry most things for a few minutes when I bring them in.

Then I get away with carefully folding stuff instead of ironing it.

M0naLisa Wed 10-Jul-13 20:47:09

Hmm maybe thats why i get spiders on my line, cos i fleave them out lol

flossy101 Wed 10-Jul-13 20:54:29

I always leave the pegs on. Washing has been known to stay on the line for several days.

LuisSuarezTeeth Wed 10-Jul-13 20:54:54

If you leave them on the line they can mark your clothes.

BartyFottom Wed 10-Jul-13 20:59:09

Peg Idol!

We leave ours on the line. I don't give a damn what that means! I might wipe the line once a year. No muck or marks on clothes yet!

MaureenMLove Wed 10-Jul-13 20:59:23

Well, I've managed to avoid marks on my washing for the 25 years I've been leaving pegs on the line!

McNewPants2013 Wed 10-Jul-13 21:00:52

I leave mine out this washing business is mind blowing.

BartyFottom Wed 10-Jul-13 21:01:42

Actually, I'm a pig idle peg idol.

ThePowerof3 Wed 10-Jul-13 21:02:01

I used to be awful and just pull the washing off the line and let the peg fall were it may, now that is idle. I have no excuse I've always been a slut like that

ParadiseChick Wed 10-Jul-13 21:03:13

Why would pegs being on the line when there's on clothes leave peg marks on clothes?

I leave my pegs on as I get twitchy if I don't use matching pegs ie two pink, two blue etc per item
.

ThePowerof3 Wed 10-Jul-13 21:07:02

You must feel sick at the thought of what I used to do thn Paradise!

debka Wed 10-Jul-13 21:07:30

My mum made me a Peg Apron to keep my pegs in. It hangs on its own special hook inside when not in use and when I hang out the washing I tie it round my waist and feel like a 50s housewife.

That is what you need, OP.
