Are you actually kidding?! What a joke! Imagine the amazing time you could have in Italy or France or somewhere with tat kind of money!

I have looked on their site many times and have yet to see how their holidays can be worth it.

GeekInThePink Sat 06-Jul-13 09:30:15

No way! Really?

needasilverlining Sat 06-Jul-13 09:30:34

WTAF?

It's not as nice as it used to be, either - they used to discourage stag and hen nights but I'm told these days they actively encourage them.

Shame, is lovely idea but I'd rather spend a LOT less for a week in the sun!

MortifiedAdams Sat 06-Jul-13 09:30:38

We could do two weeks in Florida for that! DD is still under two so.no seat needed.

NicknameIncomplete Sat 06-Jul-13 09:31:57

It was probably £400 last month.

And people wonder why parents want to take their kids out of school for holidays during term time.

Portofino Sat 06-Jul-13 09:32:02

I am doing 3 weeks in French gite for less than that. Including spending money.!!!

I did 10 days san francisco to vegas for less than half that for two with spends! Admittedly a few years ago but not decades.

bruffin England Sat 06-Jul-13 09:32:06

Go to the european ones. You will get a VIP last week in august for about 1K and less for a standard. My dcs loved it and we went back year after year.

pictish Sat 06-Jul-13 09:32:56

Fuuuuuuck meeee!!

youmeatsix Sat 06-Jul-13 09:33:18

maybe you are buying the cabin grin, even then i'd have to consider it, ))))center parc holidays(((((

memphis83 Sat 06-Jul-13 09:33:32

Really? Are you sure you put info in correctly? I was looking last night for 7 nights and they were about £1000-£1400, we decided against Longleat though as it is the dearest one.

Absolute joke & now we're going to be fined for taking our children out of school.

Did the government not stop to think why this happens? No, course not, the whole thing is shambolic angry

Longdistance Sat 06-Jul-13 09:34:48

We're going to Club Med in Phuket, all inclusive for less than that, for two weeks, and there's 4 of us confused

pictish Sat 06-Jul-13 09:34:52

And as I hear it, you have to pay for all the activities on top!

Longdistance Sat 06-Jul-13 09:35:08

Is it posh Butlins?

Growlithe Sat 06-Jul-13 09:35:52

We looked a couple of years ago for a Mon-Fri in school summer holidays and it worked out cheaper to go to Disneyland Paris in a Disney hotel. Stupid but true.

ilovechips Sat 06-Jul-13 09:37:20

A standard cabin for 2 adults 1 toddler at Longleat for 7 days week beginning 16 August is in their website now for £1700...still shockingly expensive but not 4.5k, are you doing tons of extras etc (which i agree are well over priced!) I must admit I do like centerparcs but Ffs the prices are getting absurd, with our weather the way it is I'd rather go somewhere warm for the same money!

MortifiedAdams Sat 06-Jul-13 09:38:27

Looking at work last night. Last week in august, no extras. The Fancy pants cottage was over £5k.

raisah Sat 06-Jul-13 09:38:40

I went once four years ago and only because we got 15% discount voucher which we were allowed to use on the late cancellation section. They don't usually allow you to do this so we got a comfort bungalow for £230 for a week. Haven't been able to get a better deal deal since so refuse to go back.

£4.5k for that money I expect guaranteed sunshine and everything included so I don't have to pay extra for food and activities. Centre parcs won't give you any of that so you are better off going to the south of france or anywhere with sun.

BearsInMotion England Sat 06-Jul-13 09:38:57

Centerparcs is worth it for a midweek or weekend break in early December, even then it's a bit pricey. The rest of the year prices are just shock

TheMoonOnAStick Sat 06-Jul-13 09:39:36

I can't for the life of me see what the big deal is with CP either. Even people I know that come back and rave about it never tell me anything that makes me think WOW! I must go. It sounds like the sort of stuff you can do most places really: bike rides, swimming, walking...confused I can do that all from home.

catgirl1976 England Sat 06-Jul-13 09:40:12

WTAF? We've been in February and is was £469 for a mid week in a cabin for 5 adults and 1 child

You could go somewhere amazing for £4.5k

Shocked anyone would pay that for CP. shock

newbiefrugalgal Sat 06-Jul-13 09:40:18

We went off season and loved it. Did no extras. Outdoors and pool were enough for us!
