Aibu knee pads for crawling baby?

Surely the most pfb thing ever or am I wrong?someone on fb asking if anywhere sells baby knees pads as there 10 month old stops when he gets to edge of rug or carpet?!? Only started crawling a week ago, is 10 months! I nearly choked on my tea! People are plain mad surely??

I like the idea of knee pads - also for older kids. Hate to see these skinned knees all the time. have actually spent time thinking about this and wondered if there could be a market. Also for my baby/ child velcro headband. You stick a headband round their noggin and it velcros to their car seat to stop their head falling forward when they sleep.

Realise I will have to name change after this admission.

Sometimes it would be nice to have a Velcro suit on my very active 15 month old DD and a Velcro wall to stick her to, so I could have a quick cup of tea in peace!

You get them on eBay! I got them for DS because I thought my laminate would be really uncomfortable. Apparently it was because he only crawled for a month but he wouldn't wear the pads.

I want the velcro headband for dd4 now can someone invent something to stop her taking headbands off.

I credit her early walking to having either polished floorboards or tiles on every floor downstairs or should that be blame.

My little delight loved crawling. But he loved crawling on his bad knees over gravel and stones - weird child! I'd pick him up, put him on the nice soft grass and he'd make a bee line straight for the rough gravel.

Dd4 refused to crawl on grass. She'd sit crying if I dared to put her on it. She refused to touch it with her hands.

We have tiled floors throughout our (Spanish) house. Didn't think of knee pads - never saw them, didn't know they exist, woukdn't have bought them.
However, ahem we did buy a wee crash helmet! Well, when he was learning to crawl, like all LOs, he'd keel over and thwakah and he was 5mo, such a soft noggin
He walked early and the helmet came right off - although it was designed to protect baby's head from tables etc when they learnt to walk!
Would love carpet, how nice and soft and bouncy!

LOL, slightly OTT. I did attach dusters though to my DDs knees which a hair band so that she dusted our wooden floor as she went.

a bubble thats what your baby needs like one of those zorb doodahs and just roll around a baby is so not as fragile as you think honestly that is what knees are for to get scraped now and again

My ds crawled really early, but we just stuck to carpet for as little while. Does sound like wrapping them in cotton wool a bit, but depens on the circumstances i guess. Do understand the tile floors overseas etc. Couildve bloody used a helmet and knee pads though. He is literally the clumsiest child ever. Hes 2.3 and still walks into walls and has arguments with door frames on a regular basis. We are currently sporting 2 grazed knees and elbows, a massive bruise on the cheek and a golfball on his head. Disclaimer.....I am not a terrible parent, he's just so damn fast!!!!

Babies have soft kneecaps, so maybe it doesn't feel as bad as it would for adults?

Can we invent a cap for babies to wear during dinner time so they don't get food in the hair?

That sounds like a goo idea visualise we keep telling DD if you insist on wiping your hands and smearing food in your hair you will have to have it washed, which you hate. In fact an all over cover with only the head forehead to chin out would be even better for mealtimes!
