AIBU? Dreadful news about Woolwich killing. Front page of a news website has the picture of a man with bloody hands and weapons. The blood of the murdered man.

AIBU to not want to see this and have a choice? They could take it off the front page FFS

Nothing like this on BBC.

I'm more shocked at the video footage on the ITV website to be honest

How awful for the victim's family.

I saw people on fb talking about the bloke with the blood on his hands in the news. I will try my damnedest not to see it. The only person who deserves coverage is the poor man that has died, and that coverage should be dignified.
How dare these murderers be allowed air time.

I've turned it off. I hadn't seen the story until recently and went online as I do when making dinner and there it was.

I feel for the family and that poor man. Horrible.

On ITV? I've seen it.

What a horrific attack and what a terrible way to die Sad and so terrible for the families and friends. And the witnesses too.

Not at all, I was so shocked; I turned on ITV and he was standing there, face not blurred out, spouting hate and covered in blood holding a knife. I don't understand why anyone is giving them the attention, its clearly what they wanted, surely its almost encouraging this to be spreading the message like they wanted. It was so visceral, I'm sure there are many people watching with family and friends in that barracks and they can't have informed everyone by the time it was broadcast. Really appalled and hope somehow they are pulled up on it but don't have any idea if it breaches broadcasting regulations or just basic human decency.

I have seen the video of the man with the bloodied hands.
I wish I could unsee it.

I'm going to put in a complaint to the PCC. Disgraceful and lacking in sensitivity quite frankly.

Hollyberrybush - there's a big difference between freedom of speech and prurience.

It's now on the BBC website too - the last frame on the 'in pictures' bit if the story. Horrific and I'd rather not have seen it too :(

No there isn't - you may act like an ostrich, I prefer to see the real thing. That way no lies are told.

News should not be censored but extremist nutters shouldn't be given an international platform to spout their venom.

If from now on they think they can get their 'message' across in this way, it's not improbable that there will be other similar attacks.

OP - I agree with you 100%. I went to the ITV site and the youtube video link was on there. Obviously I didn't click, but I could see the first frame of the video which was of the attacker with his hands covered in blood holding a cleaver. I cannot get the image out of my mind and all I can think about is how the soldiers family could possibly be coping with this coverage on top of already horrific events.

I have never done anything like this before, but will be complaining to ITV. Awful, awful 'journalism'.

Hmmm, I think some people just want it suppressed because they don't want a negative image of a muslim out there rather than being genuinely upset by it.

And Hollyberrybush news does need to be censored when its on at times that children may be viewing.

Really? I grew up with watching bombings galore - cant say I've developed a syndrome because of it.

FWIW - I've spent the past hour on FB slating every paintshop knocked up picture demadning the deportation of anyone who cant trace Aryan heritage back 20 generations.

There was a warning on news I saw- turn off if dont like it but I don't think should censor it.

Telegraph is reporting that the victims body was shielded by two or three unarmed women who got between the attacker and the victim to prevent them continuing to hack at him after he had died. They held firm in the face of armed and dangerous men for the 20 minutes it took for armed police to come and shoot them.
