I am sure there will be a fair few.

I really like the names Tyrion and Daenerys.

Are they from Game of Thrones?

Are these welsh names? AFAIK it's Tirion, no? Never heard of Daenerys.

My neighbour is a teaching assitant and they've already had a Khaleesi and a Brienne this term

I like Brienne.
Khaleesi, not so much

Arya is a beautiful name.

Khal Drogo might be pushing it Grin.

I like alot of the GoT names, especially Daenerys but wouldn't give my child any one of the, purely because it would sound a bit odd- like naming your child Frodo or Anakin (although I actually know someone named Anakin!)

Arya is already a 'real' name. Some little Daeneryses have already appeared too - in fact most of the name are variations on existing ones. Except Khaleesi. That's just nuts.

I know an Arya. Doesn't Khaleesi mean queen though? It's a title rather than a name?

Yes, sorry they are all names of characters in Game of Thrones.

A lot of the names do sound Welsh; Daenerys, Viserys, Varys etc. It is the "rys" ending.

Considering my two are named after members of my favorite bands and a bloke DP fancies out of Star Trek I'm in no position to cast aspertions ... Do agree that Drogo might be pushing it a bit though Grin

I know of at least two Arya's already.

The only Tyrion I know is a little girl.

Stick with Sam and Rob.

Too geeky for words to call your kid Tyrion or Cersei.

I said to a friend the other day that if DS's first girlfriend isn't called Katniss, Brienne, Arya, Sansa or Arwen I will be almost disappointed Grin

Khaleesi is better than Regina. But I'd rather be called Janet than either of them.

I like Ygritte. But it sounds too much like a '60s sex kitten who went out with Peter Sellers for real life.

Yes, lots of lovely names in ASOIAF. I don't think Drogo is pushing it. Infact I think Drogo Smith has quite a ring to it.

I really wanted to use Arya for DD (10mo) but was vetoed by DH whose view was that as it's the only normalish name, that's the one that will become super-popular. I do still look at DD and think she would be a good Arya, but yeah, he was probably right in that if it took off big time, I'd look like a twat, and from Clara's comment, seems he might be right

I know a brand new little Khaleesi. :)

I don't know how anyone could actually use Katniss on a real baby. I just look at it and all I see is CATPISS!!! Plus, her character isn't very likable in the later books.

I quite like Sansa.

I've always wondered if I could get away with Eowyn if we had a girl. I'm guessing probably not Grin
