Apparantly fitting one of those cat deterent sensors to the outside of the shop makes it uncomfortable for teens to hang around. Its not dangerous so no long term affects but as teenagers ears arent fully developed they can hear the the high pitch frequency sounds. I have one in my garden & need to switch it off when my teenage nephews visit. Costs around £10 from homebase B&Q etc. Worth mentioning to the shop owners.

Good for you, but if you "stand up to teens" where I live, you get harassed out of your house. As of yet you don't know if there is going to be a follow up incident. It might not be the case where you live, but it would be dangerous to get involved in other places.

Well done, people always wish after incidents that theyd done something and it takes bravery to step up and do it there and then, bet the owners were glad of your support.yes the owner should contact the school, whilst in a uniform theyre damaging the schools reputation.shame that these boys made themselves come across in that way, gives teens a bad name when its not always deserved is it?

I did suggest to shop owner calling school maybe a better option (school is next door and half the staff use shop car park to park their cars as school is having building work )

YWNBU. Well done! I hope the shopkeepers still called the police though, at least on 101.

Went to local shop on my way to pick up kids from school (11 am) just for tin of beans for lunch. Love new shop owners, they are really pleasant and make fuss of Dc etc. gang of school boys outside obviously just finished gcse exam smoking and kicking a football around directly in doorway of shop. About 15 of them. I go in shop get my beans when suddenly about 7-10 lads come in shop shouting abuse at owner . Swearing the works. Something about kicking football at wall or car. Owners are trying to get lads out of shop, quite calmly, but getting stressed out and trying to call police.

Meanwhile I just want to pay for my beans, and get to pick up my kids in time. After several minutes , I told boys, without shouting or anything " boys just go" they then tried to gets to take their side (?!?) but I told them I didn't care I just wanted to pay and leave. They did then leave. I know I probably risked having my car keyed but think if more people spoke up when teens are being out if order then maybe we wouldn't have problems we are having. Also wanted show support to lovely shop owners and not stand by while they were bring verbally abused. Or was ibu?
