I probably am being unreasonable but I'd like to know HOW unreasonable!

I've just been to the (small) local playground. Six toddlers including my dc. Every single toddler (except my dc) climbed into my buggy (with muddy shoes), touched the buggy book (with revoltingly sticky hands) and knocked it backwards.

It's SO ANNOYING! My buggy is pretty clean because I don't put dc in there with dirty shoes, don't let him eat or drink messy stuff in it etc.Iit's only a Maclaren, nothing fancy.

I'm sure I am bu. They're just toddlers. It's just so driving annoying that I'll have to de mud/snot/ chocolate it now. Humph.

You're not BU, that would piss me right off.

Would it be possible to turn the buggy around so it faces a wall, or otherwise make it hard to get into?

And where were their parents? If my DS climbs into an alien pram I apologise profusely!

fold it up?

Put the rain cover over it as soon as your child gets out. That should deter the little buggers darlings. Wink

Argh no, I hate it when that happens! DS has tried it but I always prevent him from clambering into other buggies, playing with the toys etc.

Agree with hecsy, fold it up or if its close enough don't take it at all and walk with DC.

I can't say as it bothers me, as I am not germ or dirt phobic...but I do wonder why the parents allow it. I would always shoo my kid away from parking themselves in someone else's buggy.

could you not collapse your buggy? then none of the sticky little things can clamber all over it?

Er... Tell them not to? It's not a piece of equipment, just don't let them on it. I had a buggy for about 5 years, no one ever got in it

Don't let them climb on it.

Thanks all. Rain cover is a good option... We needed the buggy today as not enough time to walk there at toddler pace. I did put it on the side facing a fence but they weren't deterred! Folding isn't an option because there are nearly always bags etc on it and it would be too annoying.

The thing is, the parents all just watched. I did say "careful, it'll tip" but I felt embarrassed to say "get off the buggy!" I need to be braver.

Yes plonk the bags on the seat of the buggy and chuck your coat over it

It wouldn't have bothered me, but good to know it annoys others so I can stop DD if she ever does it!

If you didn't make it clear that it was bothering you then I can understand the other parents not saying anything. By saying stuff about being careful, you probably gave the impression that you didn't mind, whereas if you had actually said 'Don't play on the buggy please' then everyone would have known better.

Drawing pins sharp end up in seat Grin

Fold it up or put your bag on the seat to prevent kids from having a sit down. Take the buggy book off when you go to the park.

It used to make me laugh when kids climbed into ds's buggy - kids have no shame Grin

It's only a buggy and it can be wiped down/washed.
