I have a bit of a "thing" about having a look at the menu of a place we're off to eat at before we go.... Now I absolutely LLLUURRRVVVEE pudding, so that's the first place I'll look!!

So AIBU to think this pudding menu is a little boring or am I just uncultured??

-Desserts-

Lemon meringue bavarois, raspberry sorbet

Poached pear, dark chocolate sauce, ginger ice cream

Rhubarb crème brûlée, apple sorbet, rhubarb compote

Selection of homemade ice creams & sorbets in a brandy snap basket

Cheese Plates: A selection of four British & French cheeses with traditional accompaniments

I mean WHERE'S THE CHOCCY CAKE?????!!!!!

I wouldn't like this either. I like chocolate cake or hot puddings !

YANBU, there needs to be chocolate and needs to not be accompanied by pear

Strange that they don't have a chocolate option. Is it the type of place that might do something off menu for you if you ask in advance?

Why ruin good chocolate with fruit?

out of that lot I'd probably go for the lemon meringue, but I'd be wishing it was chocolate!

Had an amazing chocolate truffle cake at Ikea this week. 95p!

It sounds posh to me!

I'm used to places that do apple pie, jam roly poly and treacle sponge.

(I don't actually know what a flaming bavarois is, TBH)

YANBU to be disappointed with the menu. YABU to use the word CHOCCY when you are addressing grown ups.

Needs a carbohydrate component.

I always judge a place by it's pounds. I wouldn't even entertain going in there, no stodgy carbs, so not worth it imo.

Choc cake/cheesecake/ tortes/toffee puddings are proper pads. Not shitty sorbets

I think I'll have to order the pear and lick the chocolate off...
Failing that, WIBU to order a couple of nicer puddings off the kids menu (they have jelly and ice cream AND choc fudge brownies etc) and just use my l.g as an excuse!!!!????!!!!

Hummus has it.

Fucking poached fruit?

Fuck off, where's my unadulterated chocolate?

I'd go for the lemon meringue thing.

Or maybe just sorbet, since I'd only want the meringue for the sorbet.

Fucking whipped egg!

I like it.

I'd prefer the creme brulee without the rhubarb though.

yanbu
i hate any flavoured crème brûlée - some things don't need tinkering with
and the rest sound a bit meh

i think a decent pudding menu needs at least one seriously chocolatey dish, and at least one nursery pudding with custard.

There ought to be something that is mainly chocolate, and/or something that is mainly apple (pie/crumble/sponge for preference) - rhubarb isn't even a fruit. And ginger is vile. And cheese & biscuits is a snacky meal, not a pudding.

I'd be very happy with the creme brulee personally. I do agree that they should have something chocolatey though.

no cheesecake, I would just stay at home

I'd go for the lemon meringue thing but nothing else sounds appealing.

I would need to see a chocolate cake to, the brownie sounds nice assuming it has no nuts in it though Hmm

I went to a restaurant that had no dessert menu Shock the waitress came over and told us what they had, which is a terrible idea as we completely forgot what she had said and didn't want to look like idiots and ask again so we got nothing, which in itself is a fucking crime!!
