My mother thinks I'm trying to poison my dcs I think

Surely as an occasional meal about 4 times a year it's not that bad?

mrsjay Sat 11-May-13 13:47:23

I drooled a little bit just reading your post OP grin

I would swap the beans for maple syrup, mmmm.

Have nt had eggy bread for ages...

mrsjay Sat 11-May-13 13:39:49

actually one of my favourite dinners is sausage bacon egg and chips oh and beans and tomato and a mushroom I could really go that now

mrsjay Sat 11-May-13 13:38:58

your pan isn't hot enough if it is soggy you need to leave it to cook and not keep turning it, ( i have bitter soggyness experience)

thebody Sat 11-May-13 13:37:42

Sounds delicious.

bigkidsdidit Sat 11-May-13 13:34:50

lovely smile

why does my eggy bread come out soggy?

Skelacia Sat 11-May-13 13:32:24

YANBU. That's exactly what my DCs got for dinner last night, it always goes down well and a meal that gets eaten with no arguing always beats one that has to have every forkful negotiated!

Oldraver Sat 11-May-13 12:45:33

Does she think you are supposed to cook on Friday nights, surely most people have something simple fends for themselves

mrsjay Sat 11-May-13 12:42:46

we call it french toast I love it and it is fine and tasty tea for anynight imo grin I like it savoury I cant get my head round people having it with sugar or syrup

Smellslikecatspee Sat 11-May-13 12:34:46

Guess what we're having for brunch? grin

LadyBeagleEyes Sat 11-May-13 12:21:17

Yy to crispy bacon and maple syrup with a pinch of cinnamon.
The salt and the sweet is delicious together.

SwishSwoshSwoosh Sat 11-May-13 12:17:03

Bacon is grim any time but the rest sounds just fine.

Dawndonna Sat 11-May-13 12:14:20

Mmmm, eggy bread.
We do a sweet version for pudding sometimes, too.
Dip in egg, then dip in plate of mixed caster sugar/cinnamon, fry. Delicious!

So wise at only 14, mrsk!

Eggy bread, crispy bacon and maple syrup, there's tomorrows breakfast sorted!

MrsKoala Fri 10-May-13 23:41:28

grin TheSurgeons - Actually i discovered it at about 14yo after too many biscuit dropping disasters, and then realisation that, when you dunk 2 packs of hazelnut maryland cookies in your tea, there is no tea left to drink < shock at thinking oh yummy now i'll drink my lovely tea and then the horror of realising the bastarding cookies have 'drunk' it all>.

PoppyWearer Fri 10-May-13 22:17:42

Yuuuuuum eggy bread!

If my DCs would eat it, it would be a staple of our tea time menu.

<glares at DCs>
