My mother thinks I'm trying to poison my dcs I think

Surely as an occasional meal about 4 times a year it's not that bad?

Can I have tinned spagetti with mine instead of beans and what time should I be there? The only reason DD doesn't get food like that is because I refuse to share eggy bread

I can't see anything wrong with it. What's wrong with your mother?! Wink

What's wrong with that?? It's got protein, vegetables, carbohydrate....! All fine :)

We sometimes have pancakes for dinner... now that IS bad :)

Sounds great.

Just as an aside, my cousin's 'D'H has mortally offended my aunt, his MIL, by complaining that her delicious food - lasagnes, cottage pies, casseroles, cauliflower and mushroom cheese - is crappy student food. He is a twat.

YABU, beans should never be on the same plate as any other food, except a baked tattie!

Oh God yes, I want exactly that... Right now. Yanbu.

My mother thinks if there aren't 3 veg and 'proper' meat on a plate, then it isn't a proper meal

Pasta is really quite scandalous!

I want that now. Do you think DH would mind if I rejected the meal he has just cooked and demanded that instead Grin?

YABU-you've given me dinner envy Envy.

Think people are too hung up on mealtimes and type in general especially when you look at other cultures and what they eat throughout the day -each to their own I say,no more food rules!

No, no, no. Eggy bread and bacon should be served with fried tomatoes. Beans is just wrong!

eggy bread=eggy toast I think.

No bacon for me please.

Eggy bread? Is that French toast?

Report
SybilRamkin · 10/05/2013 20:45

Shock at ShadeofViolet! It's bread dipped in beaten egg then fried in a pan till crispy and golden and delicious...

It's sometimes called French toast, and the French call it Pain Perdu ("lost bread" because it's usually made with stale bread).

Well I wouldn't have it for dinner. I would only have that for breakfast. But sometimes when everyone is out i have a packet of biscuits and 2 cups of tea (one to dunk, one to drink) for my dinner :) So just have what you want!
