I'm not, am I?

I was there today. It was flipping lovely. I unleashed my hidden materialistic self. I had a brief fantasy about what it would be like to have so much money that I could totally John Lewis my entire life.

Oh, and I bought four items.

My mil shops in John Lewis and Waitrose. That's it. She has excellent taste and is prepared to pay extra for the great customer service she tells me she gets at both stores.

They have lovely baby feeding areas with extra comfy seats too! I could spend a fortune on the wools they stock

Nice stuff but isn't it over priced and you can get the same elsewhere alot cheaper?

YANBU at all. It is lovely, they price match and the customer service is fab.

But no doubt, someone'll be along in a mo to tell us how insensitive and horrid we're all being for posting about this.

And I love their website too.

And they price match with the 'never knowingly undersold' thing so I don't think they are more expensive.

Apart from the time they wriggled out of the price match by refusing to quote...

I love them. They do Rowan wool which is my one true love in the world of crafting. There's a chair I dream of owning. My hallway looks great with one of their mirrors.

YANBU

Even my DC (8 and 7) love JL.... they have, of their own accord, decided and agreed between them that it is the best shop in the world.

And I didn't even have to say it first!

I love that they now deliver free to my local Waitrose. With free delivery (I go to Waitrose anyway) it sometimes makes their stuff cheaper than Amazon and others.

I love it too!!
However, DH has pointed out that I used to take the piss out of him for only shopping in M&S and not looking round at the other offerings on the highstreet, and now I am doing the same with waitrose and JL Blush

I went in JL 5 years ago.
My dd was getting married and I was looking for a Mother of the bride outfit.
I was a bigger size then. I've lost 5.5st since.
I asked on of the assistants if they did larger sizes.
She looked me up and down and said "well we do, but I doubt they would be suitable for you'.

I was mortified.
I was embarrassed.
I was hurt.

My 2 dds were cross and wanted to put in a complaint but I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me.

It certainly wasn't a pleasurable experience.

YANBU - my favourite shop...I love their children's clothes too. Friends with new babies always get a pack of JL sleepsuits from me - the designs are so cute.

I wish the hot food in the restaurant was better though - I'm always underwhelmed.

I love JL also, it's my favourite shop.

I even forgave them that DS's cotbed had a faulty screw which they never replaced despite 4 or more phonecalls and I had to buy one from ebay instead.

I could happily spend a day just in John Lewis Oxford Street.
