To be angry at a nanny 'friend' who told me I should leave my job..........

just because I told her I didn't want to feed her youngest charge her bottle this morning?! She was 'busy' texting her boss!!

My reasoning being, I lost my own babies just over a year ago, and struggle at times with dealing with young babies! The children I look after are 3 and 6 so not babies!!

She said I should be able to help out others or I'm not doing my job properly! She knows the history of what I have been through, but insisted that I should think about changing my career sad

If I seriously thought I wasn't doing my job properly, I would leave! AIBU to be really angry, and sad at her criticism?!

Still Around Sweetpea? Are you OK ? ((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))) to You <3 flowers

Mummy - another way of thinking about the fact that people know what happened is that it doesn't need to be a secret anymore. You can talk about your girls if you want, how you want, when you want.

megandraper Thu 16-May-13 09:50:58

Well done for soldiering on through all this OP. I am very pleased that some of the other nannies have gone out of their way to be nice. Don't shy away from them just because they 'know'. Maybe take them up on their offer to never talk about it again, and develop the friendships?

Wishing you all the best.

Groovee Wed 15-May-13 21:26:48

Really pleased to hear such a positive update from you x

Mummyoftwoangels Wed 15-May-13 18:27:58

Bossybritches22 Thanks for asking. It's been okay, Thankyou! Still feeling emotional at times, but on the whole things are calmer. A couple of the nannies outside school, have approached me and said that they are sorry to hear what happened. But they are happy to listen if I need to talk, or they are happy to never mention things again. If that's what I would prefer.

I was very uncomfortable knowing that these people knew such personal stuff about me. However much I am told, I have nothing to be ashamed of. It's going to be a long time before I completely believe that!

But I am so pleased that they have continued to be friendly and understanding, about what happened and why I hadn't mentioned it before!

Hopefully now I can continue to do my job, and get on with rebuilding my life. I know I will never forget my girls, and I wouldn't want to. But I do need to start being kind to myself! I deserve to be happy! Didn't think I'd ever hear myself saying that!

Thanks again to all of you who showed support thanks xx

How's it going this week Mummy ?

Hope its bee less eventful and you've been able to get some good hugs from your friends and lovely charges. xx

GingerBlondecat Mon 13-May-13 02:49:05

I disagree Portofino.

It costs nothing to be KIND.

I too, have been hurt over the years by Trolls. But one needs to put that aside and give honest feeling and help to this person whom is posting Now.

I do agree with you the AIBU is Not the best place to get support.

Portofino Sun 12-May-13 22:28:58

Mummy, the trouble with the Internet is that anyone can post what they like, true, made up, no one knows. You have issues that transcend what MN can help with. You will not get the best support here because too many people have been hurt by previous posters who were not what they seemed. The ones with the best advice will not post any more. Nasty trolls put paid to that. I suggest you seek help in RL. Soft hugs aren't much use to you.

Groovee Sun 12-May-13 21:35:09

Glad your friend is there for you (((hugs)))

oh i am so pleased to hear that you have rl support. ive found myself thinking about you and wondering how you are doing.

you're right. a lot of people are brave and say anything when hidden behind their computer screens. i bet they wouldnt be that nasty to peoples faces!

it does make it easier to know which people to avoid though (in rl and online) grin

GingerBlondecat Sun 12-May-13 13:28:31

If I was there, I would give you real life hugs, but, alas, I am in Australia. So All I can do is (((((((((((((((Soft Hugs)))))))))))))))), via a computer screen.

You deserve so much better Sweetheart. flowers brew
I will try to pm you, but, am having pc issues.

Much Love, <3 Spend more time with your rl friend, have a dammed good cry, and then hold your Head Up High. You are such a good person, and absolutely Lovely. You deserve so much better, than what has happened in these last few weeks/days.

CSIJanner Sun 12-May-13 13:18:49

I wondered how you were so sent a message - am v glad that you've found some RL friends to help you through this. Comments on a page are one thing, and lets face it, we'll all be here in some form or another, but its fab to know you have RL friends you can rely on for tea, cakes, chat or hugs

Mummyoftwoangels Sun 12-May-13 13:15:29

Thankyou to last few posters, especially GingerBlondecat I really appreciate your kind words and virtual hugs!

I spent the last two nights with a friend for some real hugs and support! From someone who doesn't call me a liar, or disbelieve anything I say! I was really hurt by some of the nasty comments on here, but as she pointed out, people can be cruel when hiding behind a computer screen! She also pointed out all the positive comments I had before the horrid posts appeared!

I hope that all the nice ones among you continue to help people! As for the not so nice, maybe you should think about how much extra hurt you might be causing, to someone who is already in a bad place!

GingerBlondecat Fri 10-May-13 17:51:56

Still thinking of you darling. flowers and (((((((((((((soft Hugs)))))))))))

nenevomito Fri 10-May-13 17:40:58

Well OP, I think you've had quite enough to deal with now and I doubt there is much more the evil ex-nanny can do. I hope you can now find the strength to move forward with your life in a positive way.

Mumsnet is full of support and its caring posters will always be drawn in when someone shares a difficult and traumatic story such as yours. I am always amazed at the care and consideration people give to posters such as yourself. thanks

Lets all hope for a time of peace and tranquillity in your life, so you can carry on your brave journey without hindrance. smile

Fenton Fri 10-May-13 14:03:37

Actually, to add to what I said - whoever sent you that card has to be sick don't they?

Hopasholic Fri 10-May-13 13:57:51

Give them as much thought as they're giving you...... NONE

It really doesn't matter what they think, shame on them.

If I wrote my life story. Nobody would believe that either.

Bad things happen to good people. Good people keep me sane. The bad, well they get their comeuppance..

Fenton Fri 10-May-13 13:53:33

You have had quite a week, hopefully things are calming down for you now but I really would (as others have) urge you to let the police know about that card - if it was your ex nanny friend they need to have all the facts.

Groovee Fri 10-May-13 13:51:52

Well said Mummy. I do wonder if these people who hide behind computer screens would be so rude in real life!

Mummyoftwoangels Fri 10-May-13 13:36:19

Hi, just wanted to say Thanks again to the last few posters who were as shocked as I was on how nasty some people are! It took ALOT of courage for me to share, what happened to me! 10 years of living in fear of doing something wrong, and being punished for it! But I didn't think sharing my life with strangers, could make me feel any worse! But I was wrong!

My ex partner told me if I ever told on him, no one would believe me! Well some of you proved him right sad Just because something sounds horrendous it doesn't make it a lie!

I just hope that all of you who made positive comments, continue to support and help, people that need you! You are amazing people!

Those of you who weren't so kind, should maybe remember the saying...

" if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all "

The last thing I needed was to be put down, AGAIN!

GingerBlondecat Fri 10-May-13 08:41:25

What Unholy Hell decended on this poor girl (the OP)

Op - ignore the few (nanny/ex/a couple of posters on here) and take heart from the good majority.
