It is absolutely fine to leave dog shit behind if you are walking in country side.

No it's fucking not angry

There are a bajillion reasons why you should not. All bloody good ones, particularly if its farm land.

So stop you filthy fuckers. Do not tell me its ok. Because its not.

Work on the simple assumption that if you are there, other people probably will be so bag it and take it with you.

<<continues seething at utter cock wombles>>

quoteunquote Mon 29-Apr-13 13:24:25

and worm your dogs before coming onto any land with livestock please.

SirChenjin Mon 29-Apr-13 13:24:54

Hear hear. If your dog craps, pick it up. If you can't be arsed to do this then don't have a dog.

WilsonFrickett Mon 29-Apr-13 13:25:41

I have just moved to a rural-ish area and this drives me mad! But please, if you can be arsed, tell me some of the good reasons so I can rant discuss them with careless dog walkers next time I see them?

LeChatRouge Mon 29-Apr-13 13:27:11

Years ago one if my kids fell and landed hands down in some dog crap whilst on a walk in the countryside. It was traumatic.

I do not understand why anyone wouldn't pick it up.

yaimee Mon 29-Apr-13 13:29:49

yanbu but keep in mind that the farm dogs won't be picked up after, so some of what you cone across might be that.
In my eyes, if your dog shits, you pick it up, no matter where you are.

HoneyDragon Mon 29-Apr-13 13:31:01

Yes. As has been mentioned if you are too feckless to pick up your dogs shit you are probably to feckless to worm your dog regularly. Most life stock aren't wormed so you are risking another animals health/life and someone's livelihood.

HoneyDragon Mon 29-Apr-13 13:32:10

Yaimee, if its all from the farm dogs than I'm looking for a pack of very skinny dogs grin

Soundwave84 Mon 29-Apr-13 13:33:19

We go to a local country park quite a lot, very big with proper paths and a nice lake to walk round etc., its all fine until you come to the part of the walk that goes through a small wooded area and are hidden from the view of the boating lake and café.
You can actually smell the crap before you get to it there's so much left lying around, and last weekend it was ten times worse as they had just mulched all the trees, the dog owners in question seemed to believe it was put down purely for their convenience.
Last time I caught someone doing a dump n run, I got an earful of abuse for asking if they were going to pick it up.

CandidaDoyle Mon 29-Apr-13 13:33:23

YANBU. This make me really cross.

Also, it is NOT ok to leave dog poo all along the pavement on the main walking route between the centre of the village and the school. I'm sick of repeatedly shrieking "might the dog mess" at my DDs. Teachers have to stand at the front doors checking all the kids shoes as they come it, it's got so bad. Yuck.

Tortington Mon 29-Apr-13 13:35:11

kudos @ cock wombles, it will now join cuntox as my words for the spring

MousyMouse Mon 29-Apr-13 13:35:27

if you lazy people cannot/will not pick up after your dog, have it pts!

StuntGirl Mon 29-Apr-13 13:35:56

Haha, I clicked on here ready to rage at you that it is not fine to leave your dog shit in the country! grin

lottieandmia Mon 29-Apr-13 13:37:24

YANBU - totally agree

LeChatRouge Mon 29-Apr-13 13:38:15

Funny how some dog owners find it acceptable to shout at people pointing out the dump. I would be mortified.
We need to shift the culture a bit, make it more acceptable to point it out, name and shame, embarress the owners. At the moment it feels like the owners get defensive, they should be ashamed.

CMOTDibbler Mon 29-Apr-13 13:39:57

YANBU. Drives me nuts - and no, sheep/cow/horse poo is Not The Same.

And if you don't like swinging a plastic bag of poo along on a long walk, get a Dicky bag (though ours is a bit too effective at keeping the smell in and has been left in the car for a few days with poo in before now)

JenaiMorris Mon 29-Apr-13 13:43:50

YANBU, but someone will come along and say it's just fine because badgers, foxes and rabbits (yes, rabbits) crap in the country too.

HoneyDragon Mon 29-Apr-13 13:45:36

Yup. I got called an idiot for asking one twunt to pick it up. "Oh she always goes in the hedgerow". Yes the same one we and others pick blackberries and elderberries from, you WANKER.

fuzzypicklehead Mon 29-Apr-13 13:46:18

Also, these feckless feckers leave their dog's poo festering in the countryside so that owners of idiot hounds dogs like mine end up rolling in it and I have to walk/ride home with it. I know I'm not the only one whose been through it.

fuzzypicklehead Mon 29-Apr-13 13:47:21

Sorry, the idiot hounds roll in it. Not the owners. I don't roll in poo.

HoneyDragon Mon 29-Apr-13 13:48:16

Yes but we don't feed badgers, foxes and rabbits processed crap so if they try that one they can sit in Cock Womble Corner.

And fox shit in the countryside is a fallacy. I know for a fact there is none left because my dog rolls in it all and brings it home with her.

ENormaSnob Mon 29-Apr-13 13:51:01

Bleugh at rolls in it.

<scrubs dog off Christmas list>

Yanbu at all.

wordfactory Mon 29-Apr-13 13:51:07

But I thought the National Trust recommended stick and flick in the countryside?

We live In The Countryside. There is a large wood behind our house where we can often be found. My daughter was scaling a bank, she is two and I told her she would fall off, so she did it anyway. Fell off and right into some dog crap. The second worst crime is that people pick it up into a bag, and then fling it into a tree/hedge. This almost annoys me as much!

wilsonfrickett numerous reasons. Worms for one, some roundworms (Toxocara canis) can lead to blindness in children when the larvae leave the intestines via the bloodstream and travel to the eye (as well as liver/lungs/brain.) It is called Toxocariasis. Aside from the fact they will cause vomiting/diarrhoea and severe gut pain. If a dog is infected, the adult roundworm can shed over 80,000 eggs per day!
Some dogs may have bacteria in the gut such as campylobacter, or e.coli which are also spread via the faeces.
That and it is just downright disgusting to have to get dog shit off of a shoe!

I am a vet nurse, and it just makes me so bloody mad. It is so irresponsible.

Finola1step Mon 29-Apr-13 13:52:53

YANBU. Shit is shit.
