to absolutely hate/loathe the film Bridesmaids and wonder how anyone could find it "the best film ever"!

I know the film was out ages ago but I watched it on dvd a good few months ago after reading a letter in a magazine where this woman said it was her 7 year old dd's fave film so I thought it might be nice to watch with my dd3 who is 9 but luckily I decided to watch it first - and really hated it - I thought it was such childish humour and pretty revolting and by the time we got to the puppies being given away for free I watched the rest on fast forward thinking it was probably almost over anyway but it wasn't - it went on and on! I haven't watched anything like the American Pie films or any or that kind of humour which I think Bridesmaids is trying to be like but I still cannot understand why so many people have raved about this film and to think it's acceptable to watch with your children - it opens with her having sex for a start! Anyway I thought I had put this behind me until I read on FB a friend's comments about how she has just watched the film again and so many others have left comments agreeing that it's the best film they've seen and so funny - oh the bit on the plane - oh and in the shop with the wedding dresses ..... confused - I had to come somewhere for a rant!!! (and hope that at least one person can agree with me or if not please EXPLAIN to me the funny parts and how I missed them!!

I thought it was crap, can't exactly remember why, but crap anyway. YANBU

I think maybe obviously it's a sense of humour thing, I prefer irony and absurd humour, tickles my fancy. I detest toilet humour, really really hate it.

I thought it was horrifically unfunny. I hated the lead character, and also really detest toilet humour. Ive never left a film in the cimena before, but came bloody close with this one! I did like the Hangover though, and American pie, and I love Miranda.

I like it, but definitely wouldn't show it to a child!

I actually love Melissa McCarthy's character...I don't feel that there were "fat jokes", just "what an odd duck" jokes. And I think "you're your problem, Annie...and you're also your solution" was a great line.

Why do some people show films to children when they aren't old enough for them? Aren't the age ratings there for a reason?.? confused

but for a tiny instant they allowed the viewer to see her as the most balanced and adult woman in the group, until they lost confidence and turned her into a weirdo again, what a waste

I love most silly comedies but this one left me cold. Not even remotely funny. I was embarrassed for the film makers tbh. I gave it a 1/5 on lovefilm. Now the hangover is funny.
