On every thread about hen dos the vast majority of posters say how they hate 'traditiinal' hen dos. I realise mn isn't necessarily representative if el, but just wondering how so few mners can like what seems to be the norm.is anyone willing to say they enjoy avoid "l plates" hen do?

"a good" not "avoid"

I've been on a couple that I enjoyed but I was in my teens/early 20s

I guess I just sort of grew out of it.

They do get old quite quickly.

It's perplexing OP.

I suspect it's the kind of people who don't have the critical faculties to look beyond what they feel they 'should' enjoy and realise that it is in fact utterly shit.

Whoever they are, I really cringe for those women. Awful.

I was on one last week. There were two naked butlers, they weren't very attractive and no one's loins were much stirred. It was all a bit tacky and the poor guys were a bit bewildered as to why we weren't crawling all over their orange, muscly bodies.

In the end we had to fake it a bit so as not to hurt their feelings.

Who exactly fancies Chippendale type men anyway? They're so sexless to me.

I like a good wild piss up that goes on till 5 in the morning but can't be arsed with all those stupid hen games. Boring!

I hate them, screeching groups of drunk women, sleazy strippers, yuck, yuck yuck.
I'm maybe far too old for them now, but even the ones I went on when young were such forced enjoyment.

I wonder if its an expectation thing for many. It's what they should do.
It's a bit line weddings themselves IMO, all striving to be unique but ending up with the exact sane thing as the last wedding.

I wouldn't say I enjoy them but its usually just an evening. I tend to keep in the background and let the forced jollity carry on around me.

I prefer them to spa days which I absolutely detest and resent the waste of my time.

My worst hen night was spent in a run down cottage in the middle of nowhere with a gang of people I barely knew. The only drink available was wine which I can't bear and my hip flask of emergency vodka ran out long before it was appropriate to crash for the night Grin

I think it is the same people who find Anne Summers parties 'naughty', 'risky' and a 'fun night in'

Many, many people judging my by my city centre on a weekend.

I think I'd quite enjoy one! I'd be going in the full knowledge that it was tragic and cheesy to the extreme and think I'd find it hilarious!
Never been on one though!

Oh God spa weekends...

I think I'd rather spend a weekend in a morgue than sit around having my nails polished, my eyebrows fucked with and body massaged.

I need my brows doing. Don't enjoy the process. Would love a shoulder and neck massage and pedicure but not keen on the thought of sitting around in a dressing gown to do it

I'm pleased to find some fellow spa haters. DH is bemused as he was advised by his female colleagues that all women love them and bought me a voucher from a deal as a treat. It's still unused although I did very much appreciate the thought

He knows for the future though Grin

I love beauty treatments but only solo or with my best friend. I do not want to sit around in a robe with 15 other women, 10 of whom may be way skinnier and foxier then me.

The same people who go on about it being your 'last night of freedom' and explain proudly how they've given the groom-to-be 'permission' to have a lapdance with the stripper as a last hurrah before the wedding. Hmm

Ie., the people who are not yet ready to get married.

I've been to a few of the L plates and strippers type hen parties. They were alright. I had a laugh but it's not what I'd choose for myself. Spa days are not me either. In fact, I was just considering the other day that I'd love to do a racing track day or go to a Grand Prix for mine but I doubt that appeals to many people either.

I love L plate and 'down in one shots' type hen nights! I myself had an L plate type one and lots of shot drinking and nightclubs admittedly about 10 years ago now!
I'd have drawn the line at oiling down strippers though, that would have just made me cringe. Grin
Much rather a night out on the town than sat lolling about a spa all day having my nails painted, I can't think of anything more boring.
But each to their own...

I love spa days! Nothing better than relaxing and being pampered. I spend my time clearing up after a 14 month old so it's great.

I like drinking and dancing (less good at the drinking now I've had DS), but I hate the L plate, veil and stripper thing, tacky. I didn't allow it on my hen. Didn't stop me from getting absolutely trollied and having a hangover from hell.

For my 40th dh arranged for me to drive an Aston Martin. It was lovely because it shows how well he knows me.
I'd have rather he bought me one though.

What would everyone rather do then? So far no spa days, no l pages, no strippers, no shots and no willies :(
I once saw a hen party at York races where all the women had really glam fascinators on and if you looked closely the bride had a tiny l plate in hers and the others had tiny willies!
I loved them even though both fascinators and l plates are shit not willies though
