A year ago today Ched Evans was convicted of raping a teenage girl. His supporters are still abusing her by using the hashtag #justiceforched and #shesaidyes and anyone who disagrees with them.
Anyone on twitter who would like to show support to the girl he raped please tweet #ibelieveher

Thank you x

I'm 35 now, but when I was 21 I was assaulted by an English premiership footballer (at the time) when I was on holiday. I was young and didn't give it that much thought as there didn't seem anywhere to go as I was abroad. Facebook and Twitter didn't exist and I felt like an idiot afterwards. It was more of a 'pushy' assault, not a 'jump out of a bush behind you' assault. We had made friends over a couple of days with me being blissfully ignorant as to who he was (being Scottish, what an eejit). Thankfully he didn't make it much further for a few years and now is a washed up piece of c*, although still in the news occasionally.

Now I'm just 'meh'. Wanker.

I mean I was Scottish so therefore didn't know who he was....not that I was Scottish so therefore an eejit... Grin

Done.

Moms sorry you went through that. The culture of people who can use a ball being herald as heroes has got to end. Along with the culture of rape apologists. I believe you.

Oh it's ok, I'm fine. It was in quite a while ago now. I'm not asking for belief. It happened. Life moves on and you learn. Harder I think for the youngsters nowadays with FB and Twitter.

Tee2072 But thank you - how abrupt of me! Ugh. I've never told anyone - what's the point? I'm happy, so no need. I have not actually thought about it until now - or only once in a while, but more when I was younger and not with DH. He doesn't know. No point as it is not even worth a mention as it hasn't affected me. Smile

I made the mistake of looking up the #justiceforched thread, they're comparing him to Nelson Mandela.

A bump for this thread- Ched's gf is being given airtime by itv Yorkshire tonight at 6pm for some bizarre reason. See the #ibelieveher hashtag and comments for the reaction on twitter and please complain to @itvcalendar if you feel strongly that this should not be happening. Just how many times can a woman be re victimised??
