I didn't even click that thread <kicks self and Beer>

I think the reason it didn't meet with more skepticism from the off was (aspiring trolls take note) the OP didn't initially ask 'Is it a ghost? Am I being a bit hysterical and silly? Please calm me down!' but rather went with 'I'm very upset, please comfort me'.

Psychologically, once you've given a poster a virtual hug, you are more inclined to trust them, to believe what they say, and to defend them from people saying 'well that's a bit farfetched, isn't it?'

Ah- SGB, you don't see the word 'ullulating' enough really these days! smile

It was the Vicar staying to dinner after the failed exorcism that got me grin

CarpeVinum Thu 04-Apr-13 22:12:07

Was it all a bit Mary loves Dick?

Who is this sex crazed Mary of which you speak?

I don't watch porn films.

<tuts, hoists bosom>
<but not in provocative, come hither manner>

ckwkatie Thu 04-Apr-13 22:14:12

Haha eyes! I thought the same thing...he waits til AFTER dinner to tell her the exorcism failed...didn't want to miss a free meal, did he?!

I was really into that before the vicar arrived and the thread [unlike the spook] became totally transparent. It is a shame that some posters were,I fear, distressed by the thread.

aquashiv Thu 04-Apr-13 22:22:09

Yes ofcourse it was bullshit .

I loved the way everyone piled in with a ghost story esp that bloke with the really long one perfectly written in a rising crescendo of terror without actually saying anything.

Still had to have a chat with my self last night though I even thought perhaps I will ring Father Mick to bless the house after all.

ckwkatie Thu 04-Apr-13 22:26:19

Oh my, this is getting too hilarious!!! Love that we were all sceptical yet still secretly, slightly creeped out.

totallystumped Thu 04-Apr-13 22:35:47

Dash it. I just called by for the next installment. I thought we might get a built on graveyard once we had the terrified vicar.

ckwkatie Thu 04-Apr-13 22:38:55

Or atleast a floating DD. Gutted.

YY aqua it was stifled terror wasn't it! And no one commented on his story, bet he spent ages on it too. grin

i was lurking too, and came in for the next instalment.
Wonder what Sally-the-ghost eventually did with the bibles old Vic left? Perhaps they are slowly circling around the OP's lounge, or crazily stacked in the DD's bedroom.
<gets back to her stephen King novel. FAR more believeable...>

ckwkatie Thu 04-Apr-13 23:00:09

That's the one. The great climax of the story was that he nearly lost his two best friends because of his scary, haunted house. No, they weren't nearly killed or anything...they just both he was a nutter his house was too creepy. End of story.

ckwkatie Thu 04-Apr-13 23:00:58

both decided, I meant!

I posted a genuine story about I young a new house that turned out to be haunted. No joke, no BS. We had no experience of that kind of thing and haven't since. Maybe the OP was making it up but maybe she wasn't. Imagine that? Someone feeling intimidated by others' opinions?!!! Give me a break!

Witco Thu 04-Apr-13 23:07:44

I young = buying, apologies!

WItco: Your house wasn't haunted because ghosts don't exist. It would have been drains, subsidence, mice or someone trying to put the shits up you. HTH.

RenterNomad Thu 04-Apr-13 23:14:10

That was the post, aquashiv!

totallystumped Thu 04-Apr-13 23:16:09

My story about the mirror was true btw. But I can come up with some equally true unexplained bits if anyone is that bored.

Witco Thu 04-Apr-13 23:16:56

Gosh, thanks for that Solid, if only I had known! You must know exactly how it was. Uncanny!
