He's on the TV now.

Not sure about revolting but he does nothing for me.

It is the bulging eyes. And his mouth. He looks like he could be very cruel.

grovel Thu 21-Mar-13 12:07:13

His tone at the moment is gratuitously offensive and his speech has zero content.

YouTheCat Thu 21-Mar-13 12:07:48

I don't really care what he looks like.

I suspect he'd make a much better job of being chancellor than Osbourne though, considering he has a degree in economics.

Redbindy Thu 21-Mar-13 12:11:29

Ed Bollocks has an economics degree? He must have forgotten everything he was taught.

Alibabaandthe40nappies Thu 21-Mar-13 12:11:54

Do you really think so? Considering that he was the driving force behind much of the disastrous economic policy of the last Government?

airforce1 Thu 21-Mar-13 12:12:46

YANBU, because George is MUCH more attractive (see other thread). Check out the sex face smile

YouTheCat Thu 21-Mar-13 12:12:54

He has a first in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.

Osborne has a 2:1 in Modern History.

I know who I'd rather have holding the purse strings.

TheCraicDealer Thu 21-Mar-13 12:13:59

He looks like a villain from a Charles Dickens novel. Am aware this has no bearing on his abilities as a cabinet minister, shadow or otherwise, but to be honest I don't think he's been too hot there either.

TheCraicDealer Thu 21-Mar-13 12:16:40

David Cameron, Danny Alexander and William Hague also all have PPE degrees. Moot point.

grovel Thu 21-Mar-13 12:16:58

His father was a socialist who slammed grammar schools and then gave young Ed a private education. Still, shouldn't blame Ed for that.

YouTheCat Thu 21-Mar-13 12:17:11

Yes, but Ed finished ahead of all of them.

YouTheCat Thu 21-Mar-13 12:17:44

Osborne's mum is a Labour voter who campaigned against the Vietnam war.

treaclesoda Thu 21-Mar-13 12:19:39

I find him rather patronising and smug.

Mind you, I find most politicians rather patronising and smug...

airforce1 Thu 21-Mar-13 12:21:05

Ed has more balls than most. Shame it's cos of his name.

YouTheCat Thu 21-Mar-13 12:21:46

All politicians are smug.

But tbh, my cat could do a better job as chancellor than Osborne.

kitty1976 Thu 21-Mar-13 12:23:57

Considering what a mess Ed Balls made of the economy under labour he can not be trusted in the slightest, we will be suffering for his errors for years to come, and yes he is vile, watch him on the HOC and even he is constantly has this horrible smug look. I would prefer anyone but him to be the next chancellor.

airforce1 Thu 21-Mar-13 12:24:16

He should change his name to Alcock. Cos then he'd be all cock and no balls.

grovel Thu 21-Mar-13 12:24:29

I think he's a negative for Labour. Miliband should appoint someone less compromised by having been one of Brown's "bullying clique" (along with the likes of Whelan and McBride). Maybe his wife?

Mopswerver Thu 21-Mar-13 12:28:23

Agree. Can't bear him. I have always been a Labour supporter but I find his sweaty demeanour and bulging red eyes very off putting. He's also very aggressive and comes across as sly so I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. He is one of three reasons I am totally put off Labour right now. The other two are his wife Yvette Cooper and of course Wallace himself, Ed Milliband.

airforce1 Thu 21-Mar-13 12:32:05

If Ed Milliband had ear trouble when he was swimming, would he be Wallace and Gromits?

Domjolly Thu 21-Mar-13 12:42:21

I think the think i dont like is that he seems to almost relish when this go bad in the economy saying that he would have made a better leader than milliband

crossparsley Thu 21-Mar-13 12:53:59

YANBU. He's vile. I know people who have had to work with him in the past. That over-aggressive style is covering up something and I suspect it will only get worse with time. He's a massive negative for me.

GeorginaWorsley Thu 21-Mar-13 13:24:28

Cannot stand him.
Rude, aggressive man who seems to have learnt nothing from his mistakes.
