Lovely presents from dh today, but aibu and a bit of a cow to be disappointed that the receipt shows that he just ran in n grabbed my pressies at 6pm on the wy home from work?

It's not as though he didn't know it was VD, it's advertised everywhere for months.

sad

its a marketing ploy, not a ritual expression of undying love. he did what he had to do. most people wouldn't have bothered.

Teeb Thu 14-Feb-13 21:40:21

Yabu.

HollyBerryBush Thu 14-Feb-13 21:40:48

oh grow up

YABU and ungrateful and ridiculous. Does it really matter when he bought it?

Fakebook Thu 14-Feb-13 21:41:25

Does it matter what time he got them? At least he remembered and got you something.

IsThatTrue Thu 14-Feb-13 21:41:34

YABU he thought enough to get you something.

it's all a load of tosh anyway

It's a man thing

mrsjay Thu 14-Feb-13 21:42:09

you sounds really upset and stompy about it he got you something when did you want him to buy you gifts,

VerlaineChasedRimbauds Thu 14-Feb-13 21:42:10

That is certainly a very weird thing to be "really saddened" by. Yabu.

And a bit of a cow.

WorraLiberty Thu 14-Feb-13 21:42:39

What an extremely distressing discovery this must have been for you.

I hope you can somehow get through it xxx

mrsjay Thu 14-Feb-13 21:43:10

my dh bought me my christmas present christmas eve at 3 30 <shrug> people are busy last minute means nothing

ChocHobNob Thu 14-Feb-13 21:43:18

Is it really a man thing? I always leave buying presents until the very last minute.

YABU

MikeLitoris Thu 14-Feb-13 21:43:24

What difference does it actually make?

What difference would it make to you if he bought them last week?

gordyslovesheep Thu 14-Feb-13 21:43:28

LEAVE THE BASTARD

mrsjay Thu 14-Feb-13 21:43:32

<snigger> worra

MrsDoomsPatterson Thu 14-Feb-13 21:43:40

C'mon missus...this really isn't a probem....

hopenglory Thu 14-Feb-13 21:44:09

When would have been an acceptable time for him to buy you presents?

Beamur Thu 14-Feb-13 21:44:19

YABU. He made the effort and bought you nice presents on time - what's the problem?
DP bought mine today too, he was going into Leeds for work and went especially to a shop that is only there to get me something.

Monty27 Thu 14-Feb-13 21:44:26

<yawn>

JugsMcGee Thu 14-Feb-13 21:44:33

YABU. It's all a load of rubbish anyway. He got you something, probably because you seem quite hung up on it. You wanted a present, you got one.

BigAudioDynamite Thu 14-Feb-13 21:44:35

tee hee hee grin

MrSlant Thu 14-Feb-13 21:44:45

I know exactly what you mean though. Sometimes we have to accept though that most men are not going to be plotting months in advance what small but perfect gift would speak to us on a special day. There are probably quite a lot of local shops that would go out of business if it wasn't for lastminuteitis. <looks at her last minute gift, thinks WTAF was he thinking again and tries to feel happy he tried> wink
