...I suffer from this debilitating condition and wonder if there is any help for people like me. My house is a complete fucking shit tip, my children are currently fighting over who eats the last biscuit, I am constantly in a state of worry that I have posted the wrong thing or missed something... all I can do is keep refreshing the page while chaos reins.
Delete the bloody thing then... block the websites... get an arsing life...
I really can't delete my FB page as my business is thriving on there and you need to have your personal account to keep the business one open
I get annoyed when I hit 'I'm on' and it takes ages to load then I get a 'mumsnet offline' page. I actually have another tab open with... yep... fb on it for when that happens...
god I'm so sad.

For those of you who want the time limiting software, it's actually a plug-in (if that's the right term) on google chrome called StayFocusd (yes, without the 'e' at the end).
I've installed it but get around it by using IE

Good luck all those loging in for one hour
I sometimes get bored -liar-- so am capable of removing self from seat and doing everything.
I was supposed to start my college work when DC went back to school but I have had a child off sick every day since pre-christmas, so theoretically I would be at home unable to work if I was going into College, I am not it's Open Learning --as I am big and ugly and stupid enough to remove self from mumsnet--but that is my theory.
Falling out with a few people can work... you feel all hurt for a while and detest mumsnet.

I do spend quite alot of time on the net just idly surfing about but I see it as away of zoning out when I want to relax, a lighthearted diversion.I sure as hell dont worry about posting the wrong thing or missing anything!

Yes I really was ledkr!
Anyway I've had a very productive day (not surprising), and I watched part 2 of that new channel 4 programme, Utopia, which is almost as shocking as AIBU.

Really??? I might ave a look.
I went out bought stuff and had coffee with a friend I've not seen for ages. We spoke actual words to each other.
I only quoted mumsnet twice too.
I failed at this- I was on Mn all last night as I couldn't bloomin sleep. But DH did his share of the housework and I played with the children after getting my hair cut.
Have guests tomorrow so I really do need to spend one hour online tomorrow..

dH is watching the footie so I have to occupy myself somehow. I don't have Facebook so I break up Mumsnet with a bit of Candy Crunch and MSE.
Just spent about 1.5 hours on MN this evening, plus about 45 mins during the day. Massive fail
. But I am calorie counting too, so feel it is unfair to deprive myself of my only 2 pleasures in life, i.e. food and MN.
Hope DH isn't reading this over my shoulder!

Agree with prior that it may be more of a problem for the next generation.
Nonetheless, I do think alot of us are struggling at the moment, not helped by the portable platforms some of us use. I've now reached the point at home where I find it almost impossible to watch a film without checking stuff online, be it this, or Twitter or something.
I honestly can't remember much of what I did in my spare time before discovered the Internet in the late 90's.
