I just bought a playstation move and a dance game with "one" controller. I'm nearly 30. I am on countdown for it's arrival!

Dh has spent the past 3 days building an exact replica of our house out of lego. Its awsome actually...rooms are laid out exactly the same as the house and he even has furniture pieces in the rooms. He even found a tree and put it in the corner of the living room exactly where our christmas tree wasshock. He does have an enormous collection of lego since childhood though!

We never had brio but we did have a red railway that we used to build true to life tracks on then do bell codes between our signal boxes to say what type of trains were coming through blush
I was then trained to make colliery wagons from kits for my dads model railway. I did attempt a diorama of wildcat island at one point but I must have started secondary school or something as it never took off

Ds3 is now banned from playing in ds2s login so I now have to help ds2 to get back to where he was and ds3 insists I play with him
That's a lot of lotr

Everyone needs a Brio train thegreylady. I have been won over! grin

thegreylady Sat 05-Jan-13 11:30:16

Do you think a Brio train would be a suitable newborn gift-they have all the essentials?

Booblesonthetree Sat 05-Jan-13 11:21:57

Oh forgot, our garage will never see a car. DS (and DH) have plans for the n gauge train set in there. Along with the dart board and numerous other things to make it their own 'man cave' type place.

If I win the lottery I'm having a Lego room. Just for me, not for the kids.

Booblesonthetree Sat 05-Jan-13 11:19:35

DH 'helps' D with lego and I 'help' with the airfix models. DS got 4 for Christmas and we spent a happy boxing day evening building a ship. DH not impressed as no one got any lego this year.
Am considering asking for my own airfix kit for my birthday...

Ooh! Fire bow grin

TameGaloot Sat 05-Jan-13 10:38:38

Silly daddy
You get the fire bow at helms deep
grin

Of course people need instructions! . . . that's if they want to build a really specific cool station instead of a crappy block shape that could pass as one, just about.

Oh but i forgot this a good opportunity to slag off a man hmm

Don't you just love mn! An amusing lighthearted thread like this still gives some the opportunity to criticise a man!

I may have ask for, and received, Lego Hogwarts for my 21st birthday.

Pre-DC.

Lego is fucking brilliant.

Eleanor, my DH mostly watches minecraft videos, so it could be worse.

MadderHat Sat 05-Jan-13 08:25:00

I agree with Holla - who needs instructions to build a station? hmm

(The lego in this house is MINE, the children are still on duplo)

SPsFanjo - you need Fimo!

2anddone Sat 05-Jan-13 08:16:05

Dh spent most of boxing day sulking as ds announced he would like to build his own Lego this year and would tell him if he needed help!! Think that's because last year poor ds was allowed to help build the Lego Santa brought him by passing pieces to dh! hmm

Oh and none of the Lego games are for my dc. They all belong to me grin

Tame I'm just about to tackle helm's deep grin

TameGaloot Fri 04-Jan-13 23:54:59

Op Are you my sil?

Silly daddy
I'm wicked at the lego games (we have them all). Ds got lotr for Christmas. Almost finished it when ds3 reset the lot. What a pity now I gave to spend hours more...

I got mine Mindstorm Lego for his birthday last year (at a bargain compared to this year's prices, thankfully)

He went online and found out how to build, and then did build, a rubix cube solver machine that impressed even me.

DH bought DS a Lego advent calendar this year.

DS is 7 months old.

They opened it 'together' every night!
