I have been skint properly skint and have thought about 'selling my body'

Lucky I have never got to that place, but if I ever do would I be wrong and dirty for doing so or sensible and clever for securing an income?

You'd be desperate and exploited, and likely very unhappy.
We have the benefits system to make sure everyone can at least keep body and soul together. I can't think of any other reason to go into sex work other than my child starving - which would never need to happen.

It depends on too many other things really.

If you turned down a minimum wage cleaning job in favour of prostitution that would be different to actually starving and not being able to get to a food bank for example.

If I literally had to do it to keep myself and my kids alive then I would...but other than that I wouldn't.

Having said that, there are people choose prostitution with no qualms at all...and others who think they can handle it but end up mentally fucked up for life.

I'm not sure 'sensible' or 'clever' really come into it.

In order to grow cannabis you'd have to have a lot of money to lay out for electric...so that's probably not an option to anyone who's really skint.

I've thought about it, my friends auntie has 3 regular clients, lives in a lovely house with very very naice expensive clothes and furniture, sends her dc to private school and drives a Audi TT. I've thought about escorting and pole dancing to when I've been really really on my ass but when it comes down to it I didn't need all those extras enough to sell my body. I would if my dc were starving and I couldn't pay the rent but I couldn't just because I want nicer clothes.

I could do it if I was guaranteed to avoid the worst things that happen to prostitutes (like being beaten and raped) and it was regulated. I could imagine a Dutch-style regulated brothel would be somewhere I could probably just about stomach. Street sex would just be too scary. Wouldn't be a great way to make a living but probably would choose that over a sub minimum wage job stuffing sandwiches on an assembly line....

It's just all getting a bit Dickension ....I have recently been 'awareded DLA ' but can I just say there are loads of people who have been refused benefits which is wrong...........our fathers and grandfathers went to war to make sure the 'less infranchised were taken care off
