to think ASOS plus size models look weird?

Oh dear, you might have to buy some new heels ... wink

Kewcumber Tue 20-Nov-12 23:49:44

Looks pretty long though if she's 5'11"!

That is beautiful smile Better yet, it's a style that looks best on curves! You'll be gorgeous.

was actually thinking of this one http://www.asos.com/ASOS-Curve/ASOS-CURVE-Maxi-Dress-With-Embellished-Waist/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2612410&cid=9577&Rf-300=2078&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=200&sort=-1&clr=Black

I wouldn't recommend anyone with a lumpy body 22+ ventures near most of the ASOS plus sizes unless they have cast iron confidence!

Ooh, ooh! I know this isn't S&B but which one, Kew?

garlicbaguette Tue 20-Nov-12 23:39:58

Kewcumber, we seem to be buying the same clothes!

I'm 5'8" - and couldn't wear that black lace dress because I have a ginormous waist. Which could be why nobody's scouted me for a model ... well, one of the reasons anyway.

Kewcumber Tue 20-Nov-12 23:38:03

But thank you anyway - I spotted a dress I'd like for Xmas

garlicbaguette Tue 20-Nov-12 23:37:44

It's funny, my eyesight does that when I try clothes on wink

Kewcumber Tue 20-Nov-12 23:37:43

Asos plus sizes start at 18 and if you're 5'11 you would easily look as "slim" as that model. I'm 5'9" and at a size 20 I don;t look much bigger than that model provided the clothes are suitably draped over my saggy belly

WorraLiberty Tue 20-Nov-12 23:33:16

I'm not sure garlic, I would have put her at a size 18 at the most but then again, clothes and my eyesight can be deceptive.

garlicbaguette Tue 20-Nov-12 23:30:20

Worra, this model (the one they seem to have used most often) is 5'11" and I reckon she could be a 20.

OK, I prefer to call myself a 16/18 (and am not that tall) but in real sizes I'd be 20/22. I doubt ASOS are lying about their sizes as much as dear Fashion World, who make me a 16 or less, bless them blush

forbiddenfruit85 Tue 20-Nov-12 23:27:37

TravelinColour the plus sizes seem to start from a size 20 though?

forbiddenfruit85 Tue 20-Nov-12 23:26:45

Yes WorralLiberty it generally lists the size the model is wearing, and most of them to me look around a size 16.

They look normal to me. Most 'plus sized' hmm models are very tall though, hence have healthy BMI and take size 16.

WorraLiberty Tue 20-Nov-12 23:24:57

None of them look size 20 to 26?

santaplzjinglemybells Tue 20-Nov-12 23:24:42

UABVVVU, a size 6 is most definitely plus sized IMO

MrsCantSayAnything Tue 20-Nov-12 23:23:40

Nope. Not seeing it. here

Look fine to me.

garlicbaguette Tue 20-Nov-12 23:23:00

Linky

No, they look like normal women to me confused Maybe you're just not used to seeing photos of models with flesh?

Haughtyculture Tue 20-Nov-12 23:21:22

I think what it is is that they don't choose plus size models so to speak, just models that are larger than the size 4/6 model that is modelling their standard range....

forbiddenfruit85 Tue 20-Nov-12 23:19:32

I am not opposed to plus size models.

However the curve models on ASOS just look so strange. They look like they are actually a size 6 model that has been photoshopped to looked wider.

Is it just me?
