AIBU?

To be pissed off at the theft of 20p?

Not so much the loss of the money: more the way it was done. So Im on my way to the toilets, which costs 30p to get into. I've put 20p in the slot and I'm faffing about in my bag for another 10p but it's taking a while as Ive got DS in a sling and Im having to reach around him IYSWIM. Bloke comes up behind me, puts 10p in the slot and pushes past, leaving me fumbling for another 30p.
IABU or is this just absurdly rude and selfish?!

I would be annoyed but I would also have made sure I had the right change ready before putting the money in...also did they not have baby change facilities? as they don't (normally)charge for these and they usually have a toilet in so you may not have had to pay at all

Yes, I was at fault for not having money ready you are right. Didn't know about baby change, just assumed they would be in main toilets but turned out not to be the case

Maybe he has a bowel problem. Just imagine him crapping himself and you'll feel better about it. Grin Yanbu but it COULD have been a case of "cant wait"

Cheeky fucker! That is against all the toilet turnstile rules.

though you do get a filthy glare for not having your money ready

you're clearly very annoyed about it, given the double post Grin

Rude yes, but I like MrsC.S.A.'s perspective Wink

I've sort of done this before Blush, but I did leave the fumbling person the 20p I had in my hand on the top of the turnstile so she wasn't out of pocket and shouted sorry as I ran in. I had a massively upset stomach and literally made it to the toilet with milliseconds to spare.

Hopefully it was a situation like that with this guy and he wasn't just being extremely rude for no reason.

If that was me I´d have assumed he was putting the money in for me!

How did he know that only 10p would be enough??

Yes how did he know 10p would be enough?

If he'd seen you put 20p in, he should have given you the 10p and a "Hurry the fuck up" look.

That's what I would have done whilst seething under my breath Grin

Diddl: that was what I thought! I almost thanked him. Then he pushed past. Angry

30p for a wee? Shock It's only 15p here and not unisex either.

That's very rude!

The other day I was behind a girl trying to get into the toilets who was clearly completely unfamiliar with British coins - I just gave the the coins I had ready and pulled out 30p more - seemed simpler all round (and made me feel good, and hopefully made her feel happy too)

Talk about spending a penny, 30p to use the bog?!? Shock

I don't think I've ever seen a toilet that you have to pay to use.

YANBU, cheeky get.

The toilet in our nearest bus station charges 30 pence.
Bloody rip off it is, as there's only 3 and they're always running out of soap and toilet paper
If there's no one around I just nip under the turnstile, but I only go if I'm desperate.
