Please could all posters not write a huge wad of text and use paragraphs.

I can't be arsed to read posts without them and so pearls of wisdom are lost!!

Aibu?

YANBU. I try, really I do but it makes my eyes hurt and you are right I think the message gets a bit lost in all the words.

Yabu to think that every poster will read your request and have the ability and the inclination to do as you ask.

YANBU to live in hope.

I just don't read posts if they have massive blocks of text and no attempts at paragraphs.

Yes. That pet peeves thread was a killer.

The only time when i feel a bit sad about it is where the OP has poured their heart out. They are really upset about something in a huge paragraph.

Then the first reply is just literally 'Paragraphs would be good', and no reply.

I agree Sparkling, I think in some cases the lack of paragraphs needs to be ignored. If you read the first few lines and see its s sensitive topic either persevere and read it or ignore the thread don't make someone feel worse.

Yes when you are upset somehow paragraphs, spellings and punctuation aren't top of the list of things to care about. Sad

But if it's some cobblers about the neighbours or someone at the school gates looking at you in the wrong tone of voice etc it's a bit hard work with no paragraphs.

It hurts my eyes. I struggle to read anything without paragraphs and decent punctuation.

Yes agree with those posts. You know when it's really from the heart.

Paragraphs are very useful. However if you 'can't' read a post without them, feel free not to comment on said post. Personally I find the snide comments from people who feel that they have superiority based upon their literacy skills, far more offensive than a lack of paragraphs.

Nor is being pleasant to others, it would seem.

Paragraphs are not easy if you don't understand them or naturally write in that way. Would it really hurt so much to just be a little bit kinder?

I honestly can't read posts without paragraphs either, whatever the subject.
I don't mind spelling mistakes or lack of punctuation, I'm guilty of it myself, but a long post with no paragraphs does my head in.
Sometimes, if it's a serious post, I have seen posters put it into paragraphs which I really appreciate, though some people might see it as patronising.

Wow well if that was meant for me just to say I never ever pull people up on spelling or grammar,, thick me love and think that's twattish.

Regards paragraphs I have no idea when they should be used but just asking ops to break up long texts of words so its easier to read.

As regards being kind, I am but if I think someone is being unreasonable I say so, otherwise why bother to ask in aibu.

I understand this makes things difficult to read but in some cases it can't be helped. My stoopid tab is really buggy and sometimes it decides that paragraphs just aren't happening. It is very annoying but if it stops you wanting to read then just don't. Simple.

You can magnify the text in most browsers. It does help.
(+) in Opera, ? others.

Simple, if you can't read it without paragraphs, you need to find an easier thread.
