What on earth went through his head when he decided to do this?! The poor woman has taken all her social networks down out of humiliation I presume. link

Crazy.

Yeah how the hell did he think it could end well?

She shouldn't feel humiliated - she's done nothing wrong.

How do you know she's taken down her social network sites? It didn't say on the article, did it? I imagine it's so that the Daily Mail etc don't use photos etc from there.

I don't blame the poor woman. Self preservation rather than humiliation. Not only has her husband run off with a 15 year old but it's all over the media. Presumably she wants to avoid ther rubbernecking, the trolling and the Daily Mail searching for some naff photo of her in a school girls outfit at a fancy dress party.

Poor woman, poor girl and her poor family. It surprises me how often teachers have inappropriate relationships with pupils. When I was at school it happened once with an RE teacher, once with a student teacher (I had a bit of simplify there - the girl was 18, he was 21 but still...) and once between a ski instructor (from an external company). All of this was during the time I was in 6th form. DP knows of it happening at his school at least once as well. I know that on the grand scale of how many pupils and teachers I knew when I was at school this really isn't a lot but I just don't see how anyone can think this is right or will end well.

I feel sorry for the family of the man involved, plus the poor girl and her family too.

You can imagine the nature of the relationship from the action they've chosen to take, my heart goes out to the parents of the girl. As I've seen from a thread today you can take every action to keep your child safe, be the most sensible and responsible parent in the world and still some people will find a way to get around this. They must be beside themselves.

Can anyone else here remember being 15? I know a few are mature and sensible, but most? What man wants a relationship with a 15 year old girl.

Personally fell more concern for the 15 year old, a child who a grown man in a position of authority has taken advantage of

I think that any wife who has been cheated on deserves our sympathy. I imagine it must feel deeply hurtful to be rejected in favour of a fifteen year old teen.

I imagine that if she has a family then her priority will be to protect her children.

She has done nothing wrong, but its understandable that she wants to be left alone by the media while she puts her life back together.

I hope she finds happiness. It is her husband who should be ashamed.

From my memory, a disturbing amount of men are secretly obsessed with very young, even underage girls. Worrying also that a lot of them put themselves in a position where they can have 'access' to them (although obviously they are a tiny minority of male teachers overall)

I feel more for the girls parents tbh, but that man is scum for doing thins to all of them. The girl herself included.

Agreed Greenplastic, we had a teacher who recently died in an accident. His family was very vocal as was the school and all who knew him, wonderful family man, inspiration, well respected. Everyone just glossed over his numerous affairs with students, 15 & 16 year old girls. Don't get me wrong he was a cracking teacher, but everyone knew what he was doing and no one stopped him.

yes we had a teacher that used to have girls babysit for him, they would go off on his car at lunchtime to discuss what it involved. All girls school a male teacher will have many fall for him no matter how old or what he looks like thankfully most our male teachers would ignore or laugh at the flirting or what we thought of as being alluring

Why she she be humiliated. She has done nothing wrong except marry an idiot. But I've heard of quite a few people marrying their teachers and some of them met very very young. Not something I approve of I'm afraid.

Its not just teachers either. One of the school bus drivers who was also the father of a boy at the school ran off with one of the schoolgirls (i think she was in the fifth or sixth form but still...)

A family member had a friend at school (they are now about 18). The friend started going out with an 18 year old when she was 12! We didn't hear about this until several years later when all these 15 year old girls were off to his 21st birthday. I found it very disturbing. I know the age gap isn't as big and this girl with her teacher wasn't in a position of authority but I couldn't understand why the parents were happy with this relationship!

I have total sympathy with the wife of the teacher and I hope that if there is a slim chance that she reads this then she'll understand just how much support she has from people here (and in real life). This whole situation must be a complete nightmare for her. I also hope the papers leave her alone. Very poor form For printing the pictures, Daily Mail. Also why on earth have they printed a photo of Megan's mother? Just what they need - paps on the door!
