AIBU?

To be annoyed at this

A good friend texted me a couple of weeks ago to say that she would come round to see us either last Sunday afternoon or this weekend. Last weekend came and went and she didn't appear. She texted me on Monday to apologise for not being in touch and to confirm that she would come over Saturday afternoon (today). I texted her back to say no worries - I really wasn't as we'd not made definite plans and we'd got today instead.

Yesterday I texted her to say if she was still free, she'd be welcome to stay for a BBQ. She replies that a BBQ would be nice, that she was at work until at least 3pm and would text me with a better idea of a time.

As a result, I went shopping for appropriate bits and made a couple of salads.

I didn't hear from her until just before 5pm today when she texted to say she was behind at work and didn't know if she'd get to us.

Nothing I can do and not life changing but AIBU to feel annoyed and to think she could have texted earlier?

Yanbu, especially after last weekend. Does your friend always do this?

Depends when the work load was dumped.

Some people are bloody annoying. An old friend of mine texted me that she'd ring me over the weekend - then didn't ring but texted me to tell me that she couldn't ring me as she had joined the gym and would start going there the following weekend???????????????????????

I just thought WTF? and remembered that's why I don't bother with her any more. Haven't returned her texts since.

If she makes a hbit of it then dump her. Life is too short for disrespectful flakes.

She arrived about 6.30pm in the end and is now putting DS to bed (volunteered by DH!)
I think she just tries to cram a but too much in. She was catching up on writing some reports at work.
She's not really done this before but often will make visits briefer than planned due to other commitments.
Think I'll wait and see what happens in the next few weeks.
