Sorry, am with your DH. Do not understand people who have trouble with bodily functions.

*Childbirth aside. That's a bodily function I don't understand anyone finding easy :).

YABU -in my experience every child in nappies that has ever flown has managed to poo and stink the plane out.

For maximum effect they usually time it for take off/landing/ any other time the seatbelt lights are on .

i am pooing in a bag right now Wink

Catandthecream · 16/08/2012 15:39

Was it a Colostomy bag?

To the OP, not physical problems with pooing on planes here but travelling long haul alone with babies and toddlers makes any kind of toilet trip a mission!

Exactly Norbert Grin. My 14 month old could give a masterclass on in-flight defecation.

A lovely lady runner did a beautiful dump at at the side of my shop last week, in broad daylight and on a busy main road, then got up and just kept running Angry

I have never had a poo on a plane and have done a fair few long haul flights. Once I did not even have a wee all the way from San Francisco to Gatwick.

DS2 on the other hand. When he was 14 months on the descent into Faro airport just as the seatbelt signs came on he started filling his nappy. He was strapped to me and it just got smellier and smellier-it was horrific. Sad

I can assure you that people do poo on airplanes. I once lost a pair of glasses down the toilet on the way to Tunisia. They were hanging on the front of my t.shirt, as I bent over the loo they slipped off.
I got a tiny bit hysterical and made DH guard the door in case anyone went in.
The steward was sympathetic once he stopped guffawing. He handed me back, a very hot pair of specs. He'd had to autoclave them 'to get the debris off'.

lollipoppi Yeuwwwww.... !!! Dirty bird!

Mind you last week in France we stopped off at a roadside 'aire' - v near to Calais - and a family burnt rubber to get in to the car park - girl jumped out - she was about 4/5 - mum proceeded to hold her over the grass verge where she weeed - and then - took a dump! There were toilets at this place. Not too clean -admittedly, but I had used one and it was okay with the aid of a pack of baby wipes..

anyway - they wiped girls butt, jumped back in the car and then drove off. It put me off my pate and bread Ican tell you!

Back to topic. No. No pooing on the plane. It stinks. I too do remember DS filing his nappy just before take off - he was almost 2 at the time. I begged for the cabin crew to let me go and change him. I had to wait. He stunk.

I probably wouldn't poo in a plane loo if I had a choice (in fact I try to avoid them anyway) but if you've got to go, you've got to go!

I even managed to poo in a hole in the floor squat loo in India - something I thought I would never manage; but tbh there wasn't much option i had a severe dose of the runs

shrimp Grin The thing is DS2 never filled nappies and it smelt that bad usually. It was vile.

sole you cant tell us you shat in a bag at tesco and not tell us why.

I demand an explanation

Report
minipie · 16/08/2012 16:04

I poo when I need to poo, if there is a loo available. Don't understand why you'd hold it till the end of the flight.

But if you had a poo on a plane and there was a queue outside the door the next person in there would know. Then you would have to spend the rest of the flight with a stranger knowing.

Oh no. They would know that I did a poo. Shock

Not a problem IMO. But then, my poo usually doesn't smell
