My dd has been invited to a party where they are planning to go to see 'Ted' - this is a 15 and I think they are too young.

I don't know, I haven't seen it yet.

I wouldn't let my 11 year old go.

What a strange choice of film, very inappropriate

I went with dh to see Ted last week and there is no way they should see it. I also saw a number of 11/12 year olds being turned away by cinema staff.

What is "Ted"?

If it's a 15 rated film, a party of 11-12 year olds is highly unlikely to be allowed in.

A new movie. My12 year old is desperate to see it but it is a 15 for a reason.

How are they going to see it if it is a 15? They won't get in and that will be one ruined party.

Will they actually be able to get in to see it?

DH took DS1 to see a 15 film (he is 15) and the group before them were asked for ID.

Not appropriate for that age group at all IMHO.

YANBU.YWBU to even consider letting her go and see it... Dh and I found it funny but we are adults!

They are quite tall, most of them are taller than me and I am 5ft 4 !
Glad to hear that I am not alone in my thinking.

My DH took my 12.6 yo to see Prometheus (a 15) and wasn't allowed in.
And I don't think there was any bonking in it Wink

There was bonking in Prometheus!

I've seen Ted too and would not be happy with my 11/12 yr old seeing it.

Our local cinema requires ID for entry to this film so I assume they won't be allowed to go on. Apparently it is a Film Board Classification ruling or something.

An older looking 12 year old might get in with a group of 15 year olds, but a group of 11-12 year olds? No chance, unless the cinema staff are extremely lax indeed.

Dh and I saw it on Saturday,
I think it's inappropriate for 11 yr olds.
Funny tho Grin

I went to the cinema to see Magic Mike last week (funny, lots of male strippers, unlikely to be nominated for many Oscars) and there were A4 notices plastered everywhere, stating that Ted is 15 and ID may be asked for. Maybe because it's got a teddy in it, people assume it must be suitable for children?

BTW, have you spoken to the birthday boy's parents about this? They may not be aware it's a 15 certificate.

It is a 15 for a good reason. For starters, Ted has no penis and has to achieve sexual congress with women with the help of various vegetables. Just saying. Grin

Ted is very very naughty (unable to fuck his girlfrield so he does it with a parsnip that is later sold to a family) need i say more. opens with him getting high

it is very very wrong but very funny :) for adults not for children

Indeed - my much older daughter says it's in no way suitable and quotes 'I f**d her with a parsnip then sold it to a family with 4 kids'. Nuff said?
