IS this the norm for Mumsnet I have seen heard topics that are discussed on here then all of a sudden the 'phone in' for a programme is the same, yesterday it was helicopter parenting , do they just send the researchers onto here for topics of the day Confused

OP posts:

I know. I am noticing it a LOT.

It is quite clear that researchers trawl MN - and probably other sites too - for ideas.

I am also quite sure that a lot of threads are started for research purposes.

So you watch the right stuff then OP?

Matthew Wright is a prime example. His researchers must scour these threads.

Surely the time is ripe for someone to invent a completely bogus trend - like speed embroidery or underwater sex - and wait for it to appear on tv?

Wright Stuff does it on pretty much a daily basis, I find it ironic because he seems to hate us and calls parents "breeders" yet is making a living on the backs of our topics!

Topics in the Daily Mail seem to make it onto TV and Jeremy Vine R2. Articles about helicopter parenting yesterday and fizzy drinks a few days ago in Daily Mail online, which are then discussed here.

Yes although Mathew wanker Wright purports to hate MN they dont half seem to use quite a few thread subjects pinched off of here

I think you must be imagining it, I've never seen a MN topic come up on TV

Can we try and engineer it?

Jizz on doorstep.
Cuntworms.
Cube of poo.

Noticed how everyone's finding jizz on their doorsteps these days? It's sweeping the nation!
