AIBU?

To think that dh should have contacted me after a 3 hour drive?

Dh has gone to a triathalon today which is 3 hours away, I'm a bit nervous because I'm 37 weeks pregnant but measuring two weeks ahead (so potentially 39 weeks?!) and also because he had to set off very early this morning so I was worrying about him driving whilst tired. He told me that he would definately call me when he arrived at the event so that I'd know he had gotten there ok and also to let me know what he was doing with his mobile (he had said he was going to leave it with one of the staff working there so that I could phone in an emergancy) . Anyhow, he has sent no text or phoned. Nothing. I don't think he's been in an accident or anything as I would have been informed by now so I'm just annoyed he didn't phone!

My DH did something similar, went out for the day with DSD and left his phone in the bloody car!!! I was fuming. But he didn't do it deliberately and I'm sure your DH hasn't either. Could be no reception? Was his phone charged? Maybe he was running late and had to start the event right away?

I do feel for you though.

It is annoying, but often when you arrive anywhere you get very caught up in the whole meeting and greeting and just don't have time.

so YABU but only a little bit and understandable under the circumstances. x

would a LEAVE THE BASTARD! help at all?

I'm sure there's no need to panic, just send him a quick text asking if he's there yet. He's probably got caught up in getting sorted for the event.

Why don't you just phone him? Confused DH went off to spend the weekend with a friend yesterday and I asked him to call or text when he arrived (about 3.5 hour trip). He forgot, I forgot Blush and he eventually texted me about 9pm.

However, I wouldn't let DH go 3 hours away if I was 37 weeks as DD was born at 37+1 - and I had a 4.5 hour labour Shock.

It's annoying since he said he would check in with you, but other than that I'd say YABU. I know you're very pregnant, but in this situation I wouldn't expect for my DP to be calling me to check up, I would enjoy the peace and call him if I needed him back.

I'm scared to phone now as the race will have already begun and if he has left his phone with someone there they will probably assume I'm phoning to say I'm in labour! Grin I know he's fine and probably just got caught up in registering etc, I just get annoyed by his doing things like this sometimes as I'm a bit insane rather anxious about everything at the moment... emsyj that is scary! Luckily I have no signs of an impending birth today!
