She is not the most ladylike of kids, but still there are 3 pics ofthe kids doing craft activities on the floor, and DD is not wearing trousers, she has her legs in some ungainly position and is while she works on making birdhouses, mothers day cards etc on the floor, but the project's background is basically her ladybits covered by her pants, right smack bang focal point of the picture.

Little girls do this

I suggest that if it bothers you, you choose trousers or shorts for your daughter until she learns to sit in a more ladylike manner.
Do you want to ask the organisers to remove the pictures?

My dd is a bit like this and so she prefers to wear trousers to Brownies, maybe worth investing in some.

Are you insinuating you think there's a sinister reason why the leader's done this?

It probably didn't even register with her.

It's good you keep an eye on what's going on around your DD, but you might be being over protective in this instance.

It's not Brown Owl's fault your DD sits like a boy. Learn from it and buy her brownie shorts or trousers.

Agree to all that and she rarely wears dresses - however how would you feel about all the other parents being given 10 x 8 pics of your daughters chuff?

each picture to clarify she is the only kids in the picture. Not group shots. Also hubby is good photographer and has given them loads of great pics of troupe doung variety of activies - plenty of which could have been good alternatives to publish huge in a book.

Brownie uniform is skort, leggings or trousers isn't it? So how is she showing her drawers?

Report
Kbear · 25/05/2012 19:16

I probably wouldn't like it either but it's not a deliberate thing I'm sure, the leader just didn't notice. Has the book been published or could you drop her an email?

They are just quick snaps- as it was.

She's wearing knickers, so no chuff on show presumably.
Go and ask the leader why she chose those photos, and point out why you are unhappy. Might make them more careful nest time, little children do this sort of thing all the time and so the volunteers might not be as sensitised to the repercussions as they might be.

But will the other parents want photos of someone else's kid?

valiumredhead · 25/05/2012 19:19

I really doubt any parents will be scrutinising your dd's 'chuff' - they will be looking at their own daughters, and if they do notice then as parents of daughters they will know that all little girls sit with their legs apart at some point.

Seriously though op, don't worry about it - and maybe buy her some shorts.

'But will the other parents want photos of someone else's kid?'

That's what a yearbook is though, an inclusive record of all members.

I really wouldnt worry about it. Its photos of children having fun doing what little girls do. In years to come you will look back and laugh at it all!

I agree with the OP.

I am no pro, but like to take pics etc. Did some today for the nursery yearbook. I took a photo and then looked at it objectively, it was a girl playing in sandpit with obvious underwear in mid photo... I deleted it.

It really isn't hard to imagine that it isn't a great photo to include, let alone if you have others to pick from....

she is Brownie Girl Scout in US, so her uniform is normal clothes with a brownie waistcoat, apart from special occasions.

The yearbook is a specially published book that was given to all parents. they are get them for school and all sorts here, every year. I am not worried about he flashing a bit of knicker occasionally, she is a kid so what. but not really so happy her leader chose those pics and blew them up so big for the book.

I took about 120 pictures of camp. I had literally no clue that I am now supposed to wade through them for modesty purposes.

If she was in her swimsuit, at the brownie swimming day, would you be bothered?

Maybe send her in trousers from now on then.

Oh if she's an American Brownie does that mean she's got one of those t shirts that say BROWNIES CAN DO ANYTHING?

my daughter did this in a photo taken at school for the local newspaper. Everyone else was sitting nicely and slap bang in the middle , full view heelo kitty pants! To be honest I had a chuckle about it, because it sums my daughter up complelty, she has zero sense of clothes or looking nice etc , her main interest is playing the fool!
