Nancy66 Fri 27-Apr-12 15:08:17

Drawer as in furniture is pronounced 'draw' isn't it?

Otherwise it would be draw-er....as in a person doing a drawing.

missismac Fri 27-Apr-12 15:09:26

or 'lil' grrrrr it's liTTle, L I T T L E, pronounced lit-ul or lit-l, NOT lil, that is not a word DSIL, particularly not when referring to your son as 'lil man'.

Grrrrr again angry

NagooIsBuildingAnArk Fri 27-Apr-12 15:12:47

I feel icky is legitimate I'd say.

Ick is an onomatopoeic thing, isn't it?

Megatron Fri 27-Apr-12 15:15:29

Nancy I have never known a drawer to be called a draw until the past couple of years. For example it's a chest of drawers not chest of draws, you can buy drawer slides not draw slides etc.

Not sure I have ever heard anyone say likkle tbh.

DashingRedhead Fri 27-Apr-12 15:31:29

Of course, StrandedBear, it could be god's way of telling you to switch off the television and think on... Well, switch off the Jeremy Kyle anyway! By the way, that's not really a religious reference - it's Mrs Overall from Acorn Antiques. Much better tv...

Avoid Corry when the newest baby comes along, i have heard both Kirk and Tyrone say everything on this thread.

Chilenachica Fri 27-Apr-12 15:45:52

My MIL says liddle, which of course is a last name and so should have a capitol l, thus-Liddle- and has no place in a sentence unless that sentence is referring to the bearer of said name, and just Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

GnocchiGnocchiWhosThere Fri 27-Apr-12 15:49:27

But "draw" and "drawer" are pronounced the same confused
