Schadenfreude

Am I being totally unreasonable to rejoice in the fact that the arsehole of a chief executive of the company I work for has been fired by the board after less that 4 months in the job.

He had the personal skills of a runaway bulldozer and the subtlety of a toilet seat. He managed to offend virtually everyone in our office within 3 weeks of arriving but we thought we'd have to put up with him because he was "good at business" and would be "good for the bottom line". He never said thank you or please but would find fault with the smallest detail. The working atmosphere changed dramtically in a matter of weeks

It seems that there had been complaints from some brave souls and at least one very senior manager had handed in her notice citing the new CEO as the reason. So the Chairman and his deputy stepped in and the arsehole told to clear his desk and be gone by close of play.

We are going out for drinks next Monday!!!

I am not being unreasonable at all. Simply rejoicing with a glass or two

very reasonable, we had a similar and the minute the announcement came that he has "decided to pursue other opportunities effective immediately", you could hear the cheers and champagne corks popping.

Creamola

You are, of course, totally right and far more charitable than I am.

He has a wife and a grown up son and likes competitive swimming (info courtesy of the e-mail circulated on his appointment) so there is some humanity there. Pity it wasn't displayed during his work with us

I sometimes wonder if I have this effect on people.

Line

If you have the self awareness to wonder about this, I think it means you don't. The ex-boss had no self awareness at all. He was so poor at social and personal dealings that we amateur psychologists thought he might have Asperge's syndrome

Enjoy it.

I was bullied by a bastardly boss and left my job eventually because of it. A few years later he was frogmarched from the building by security for downloading porn at work. Reputation in shreds, the works. Ha ha ha ha ha.

Bitter? Moi? Grin

Are the pet rabbits especially fluffy though? If not why should we care about this undeserving specimen who clearly isn't trying hard enough.

Don't celebrate too early - our arsehole general manager was fired and replaced with an even bigger arsehole. Sigh.
