AIBU?

to think that one of the best things about having a dog is being able to fart and blame it on her??

Small Dog has gone up in the world and is now allowed in the sitting room with us and I have discovered that there is no need to be ladylike and leave the room, I can just blame it on the dog and DH is none the wiser!

And the best bit is because she's so cute he doesn't tell her off, so its a win win situation all round! Grin

Disclaimer: I would like to add that I don't fart very often but on the odd occasion that I need to I no longer have to leave the comfort of the sofa!

Cats fart Sad especially when they're old and smelly.

Can't say as it would make up for having to pick up their poo. Not a winner for me!
Glad you don't get her into trouble by blaming her. Perfect win.

Yes cats fart. Depending on the cat. My current one I've only heard once, but thats ok as I have 4 dogs to take the blame. Previous cat farted like a trooper!!

Not that I ever have need to blame an animal you understand - I is a lady Grin.

(You can blame dogs for most thing in life I find)

PMSL at cat farting like a trooper!

I'm sure there are a multitude of things that could also be blamed on the dog! Perhaps the disappearance of the last piece of cake? Wink

lmao I do that all the time as does DH, although my dog is a dane and his farts are proper loud affairs so I think we usually both know who has done the SBD's!!!

Besides emitting very smell farts, our dog also burps very loudly.

My farts smell of lavender. My dog's farts are rather different.

I tried this yesterday. LittleDog jumped off the sofa and ran away shaking her head

The dog's farts are quite distinctive. Though since I got pregnant again, we are less easily distinguished.

Trouble is, when our dog farts he always delicately sniffs his own rear end so you can tell when it really is him.

Cats do fart. Mine uses his as weaponry! Honestly he reeks! Mine are whiffy foul suitably pungent but that cat is in a class of his own!

I farted in bed this morning. The dog actually emerged from under the duvet at my feet and got off the bed Blush

I think anything with a bumhole is capable of farting to be honest Grin. We have a very old guinea pig with slack bum muscles and he is always leaking gas.

We are all triumphant farters Grin and DD1 being the joker blames me Shock.

I'm slightly ashamed to admit this but as you're all strangers, I will do so. A few months ago, I was sitting next to the dog on the sofa and farted. He got upset and started sniffing his bottom, looking around confused. Poor little sod thought it was him who'd created that dreadful odour. Once he realised, he leapt off the sofa in pure disgust.

My disgusting brother once farted at my Mums (he was on the sofa under a blanket recovering from the night before)

Next second his little dog emerged and promptly vomited on the lounge floor........

Cats can fart. Ours used to do silent but violent really fishy revolting ones, the sniff the air, glare at whoever was around, and flounce off as if disgusted.

So is your dog secretly thinking, ha, I can blame it on her? Grin

And out of interest - can't your DH hear which direction a fart is coming from. If you are sitting next to him and do a massive fart, and point to the dog on the other side of the room horrified, how is he not going to twig?

SardineQueen · 20/02/2012 17:33

Are you going to tell him that dog's bum is an expert ventriloquist?

If your farts are so smelly they can pass as dog farts, then you really do need to be blaming them on the dog! Grin

My cat will quite happily stay on my lap when I'm farting but if she farts then she gets up, gives me a very disgusted look and leaves the room. Hmm

DH had a mexican all you can eat buffet the other week and I was away for the night. She always sleeps on our bed but wouldn't stay in the room with him that night Grin

My DP and i do this - but sometimes we forget and blame the dog when we are out and he isn't with us!

Oh yes and we have on hell of a farting mouse for years.

fortifiedwithtea my DCs guinea-pigs are only a year old and the little one can fill the room with his noxious bottom.
He's the sweetest tempered little animal IRL, but I'm guessing his Johnny Fartpants impression will become more explosive over the years Envy vom face.

When my dog farts she wags her tail just to make sure everyone knows !

No wag tail - no fart -so we can't pass the blame.
