My colleague nicked my sunglasses.
She must've taken them off my desk, for boring reasons there are 5 people sharing a smallish office atm. Earlier I mentioned to another colleague that I couldn't find them, and then lo and behold crazy sunglass thief colleague was just wearing them. This is weird in itself because they're clearly not in keeping with her usual "look" and frankly she looked absurd in them.
I said they were mine, she denied this and claimed she bought them. I showed her a picture on my phone of me wearing them and the empty case. It was all a bit embarrasing at this point, as she kept denying it, and was being serious too- normally I would assume it was a prank (she doesn't do pranks). Other people were looking at their shoes and it was all a bit cringy as it was clear she wasn't going to back down.
So I walked over took them off her face, put them in the case and walked out. There was no tousle, I didn't hurt her, but was IBU? Am I now going to be scary sunglass grabby person? We are the only 2 women in our work place- and I fear we both now look like a couple of dickheads...

<waits for update in 10 minutes where a sheepish OP find them at the bottom of her handbag which would obviously not happen to me!
)
Very odd behaviour though! Is your colleague normally that odd?

Is it not possible that she has bought the same sunglasses. How do you know she nicked them?
I would be annoyed too but I'm not sure being sunglass grabby person helps.
Also why the judgey: "they're clearly not in keeping with her usual "look" and frankly she looked absurd in them."?
Anyway who needs sunglasses in this weather?

Why do you wear sunglasses in the middle of winter in an office?
Also think it's an odd story.

and I fear we both now look like a couple of dickheads...
Well maybe but at least people can tell you apart as one of the dickheads has a pair of sunglasses on
Really sorry but I am wetting myself here as this reminds me so much of The Office (sorry cannot remember characters' names) where one is accusing the other of having set his stapler in a jelly, and the accusee, while fervently denying it, is biting into a tablet of raw jelly he just happens to have in his desk.
Are you absolutely sure she wasn't messing with you? I mean, why would she be wearing shades indoors anyway, especially when it's so dull outside (well it is here anyway)

Probably wasn't the best thing to do to physically take them off her face, but if it was me on a bad day I'd probably slap her too, so don't take advise off me!!
Really, really, really hope they were definitely yours, but it would be a HUGE co-incidence by the sounds of it if they weren't.
No doubt she'll be eliciting sympathy in your absence, so make sure your cool and calm when you go back in tomorrow and just pretend nothing has happened!

Why would she sit there with sunglasses on? Does she think she is Karl Lagerfeld?
What a very strange thing to do.

It sounds like Year 2 mind games.

Oh my goodness, this is some crazy office carry on!
What on earth? This lady stole your glasses and was wearing them in the office at her desk?
It must have been a prank gone wrong?

lol at wobbly arm.
This is very funny, I can just see Fartface sat there with your glasses on, and you swiping them off her face, and walking out tossing your hair like the woman out of the Tresseme advert.
Oh lordy!
You are 100% sure they are yours are you?
It just seems such outrageous behaviour on her part that I can't help wondering if you were mistaken....

There will be as many of your colleagues who believe she's a thieving nutter as believe you're a thieving nutter, so take comfort in that.

Do you work in a solar field or something.
WHY would anyone need to sit there with glasses on indoors?
Or do you work in a very very cool workplace where it is de riguer to wear shades indoors.
OOH perhaps you are a poker player.
Or a welder.
