Ds's laptop (which is less than a month old) has stopped working and needs repairing.
We rang the Comet helpline, they told us to ring the repair line at 8p per minute.
Methinks I should not be paying for the repair...so I took it into Comet (an hours drive away) who kindly said they would arrange for it to be collected for repair.

If I paid them thirty quid to book the courier to the manufacturers.

So I rang the manufacturers who tell me to book it in for free collection. GREAT!
Except that I work somewhere different every day and they didn't collect it the first day I arranged, on Wednesday.

So...on Thursday I rearrranged collection from home and decided to stay in and wait for the collection. I got a text yesterday telling me that the courier would be delivering on Monday. Note, delivering. Just did internet tracking thing and yes, it says "your parcel has been received at our sortation hub"

WHAT MADNESS IS THIS?? They haven't even picked it up yet, it's still in my hall!

Am looking forward to taking delivery of my fixed laptop before they've even picked it up, who says customer service is no good these days?

New laptop for you I hope.
And yes, will be a shed if my fat, frizzy haired "courier" in her old volvo estate and her stained trackky bots is "one of our swift, smart and prompt, delivery operatives" is anything to go by.

So you have to be thin and have shiny hair to even deliver parcels for minimum wage now? What the actual fuck is wrong with people? Hmm

If my courier is not thin with shiny hair and bearing a new laptop for me there will be hell to pay. Grin

Well the courier has been and gone...I couldn't tell you if he had shiny hair because he was wearing a woolly bobble hat but let's assume that he did.

The present he brought me was.....drum roll....

A big pink plastic box!
To put the broken laptop in!
He tells me that this is what was waiting at the garden shed sortation hub last time.

Oh well. Tony the courier (we're on first name terms now) tells me that the box is pink so as to stop him nicking my laptop, he doesn't want to be seen running down the road with it.
