Well do they?

Do you judge children's parents based on what they do to their kids hair?

Assuming that it's the parents choice rather than the child's when they're very young (

I would think they were fed up with nits [been there emoticon]. How I wish you could cut a 10 year old girl's hair with clippers!

My ds has had his hair v short, really quite long and tousled, and somewhere in between.

I hope no one has judged me or him because of that - and if they have, I really don't care Xmas Grin.

I prefer short hair in wee boys so I'd probably judt think how smart he looks.

I don't make any judgements about children's hair in general but i don't like to see highlights etc. on young children.
I think your "friends" boy's harid sounds lovely, very smart and easy to manage. :)

I tend to feel a bit sorry for wee boys with long golden locks and presume they have overbearing mothers desperate to keep them looking girlie and angelic. Other than that I don't care.

The only haircut I would judge is the 'short over most of it but with a weird ratty little ponytail sticking out at the nape' style. Never understood that one.

I judged my godson's mum when she clippered all his long curls and gave him a 'number 2' just because his dad was worried it was 'girly'. It was the best hair ever and I'm still Angry and Confused about the whole thing.

In general though, probably not. Although I'm always a bit Confused when baby girls have more elastics and clips than hair Grin

I'm sure some people do. They are commonly known as twats.

Hmm, interesting.
So a short haircut on my 'friends' boy won't be judge too harshly?

Her stupid DH got the attachments mixed up and used a 7mm as a number 7.

Wee boy has never, ever had hair this short and his mother is not used to it and just remembers comments from other people about short brush-type cuts on little children as being, well, undesirable shall we say.

As long as the hair is clean and brushed, I don't judge. My DS both have 'rock star' hair. Their choice!

AnnoyingOrange · 08/12/2011 19:56

I have one with short hair and one with flowing locks (their choice)

how should I be judged? Confused

No offence intended ArtVandelay Blush I just think it looks rather odd. The 'Business at the front, party at the back' look.

if its really short I think they look like street urchins who had to have it all shaved off because of negleted un-treated nit infestation. I feel a bit sorry for those boys, it makes them look a bit thuggish when they're probably lovely.

Hmm.

I'm not keen on little boys (under 5) with gelled up hair.

It's just...I don't know. There's plenty of time for that later. I guess I'd feel the same about a little girl with straightened or highlighted hair (though don't think I've seen this).

There is a boy with a genuine classic mullet in my DS's class at school and I admit it, I judge his parents. The same child also had a huge square diamond argos special cubic zirconia stud in each ear too, and his parents completely ignored every attempt by the school to get them to take them out. In the end someone and nobody seems to know who told him they were girly and he insisted on taking them out himself, but his hair would still shame Pat Sharpe Confused poor little thing is only 6.
Both my school age DS, one 7 and one almost 5 have very short hair. I cut it myself with a no4 guard on the clippers. Keeps it neat, doesn't need brushing, minimises chances of nits and is free to do at home (after we bought the clippers).

picnic only yesterday I asked DH (French) what the obsession was with that hairstyle for small boys in France. I added that DS would never sport that look.

Really short hair on little boys is better than really long hair imo. I would just think they got carried away with the clippers, but boy's hair grows so quickly, it will be back as it was before long.

No offence taken picnic - I'm not a local and my DS has 'girly' hair. But I'm really not overbearing at all 2rebecca Wink - I just haven't really thought about it much and don't if he'd sit still at the hairdressers yet.
