The prefix 'pre' stuck on to everything - how is a pre-warning different from a warning?

When people describe items of clothing in their wardrobe as "pieces"

'Yummy Mummy'

I had an appointment with a lovely personal shopper yesterday (free - would thoroughly recommend)

She asked about my lifestyle, work etc and then she said 'So you're an out and about Yummy Mummy'. I just thought of Cherie Blair.

The woman did wonders an all, but 'Yummy Mummy' is awful

darling/mate, when being used in a non-friendly way. eg yesterday in a club toilet, two girls were mouthing off at the toilet attendant and kept calling her "darling". made me want to punch them, cos it was so false and put on.

I loathe the word gobsmacked. Horrid, hateful cheap common word! If it were for sale it would be in green and white Asda Smart price packaging, and slightly soiled.

Holistic
Pant, trouser in the singular.
Fit as a descriptive of an attractive person.
Sourcing, the fecking worst. I instantly label someone as a total cock if they use this in normal conversation.

Decimate when the speaker actually means annihilate. I was watching 'I am Number Four' yesterday and they did this.

Love the story KT Tunstall told about buying clothes in a posh shop and went to leave the shop, accidentally leaving some behind. The assistant shouted 'Don't forget your pieces, madam' and KT thought she was trying to give her some sandwiches Grin
