My advice is not to read Liz Jones - she's not very good for the blood pressure Wink

What a stupid woman, what is she moaning about?

Report

I would have quite gladly stuck a needle in her...right in her frigging eye

She presumably felt someone with a genuine problem should have been cancelled so she could see the nurse. (and isn't her argument rather redundant - her private doctor couldn't give her the second lots of jabs, but she expected the NHS to be able to do it at the drop of a hat.) -

God knows why they're sending her to Somalia,- she'll probably sit eating sandwiches in front of all the famine victims, - might as well send a baboon.

For those who don't like links it's not the whole article but you get the idea.

'Hello!' I said cheerily. 'I am not registered with you, but I live two miles away. I wonder if you could possibly squeeze me in today to complete my jabs for travelling to Africa, and fill in my malaria prescription, as I need to start taking the tablets on Sunday.'
'You are not registered?!' the woman said, clearly appalled I had made her pick up the phone. 'We can't see you then. And we can't fill out a prescription that hasn't been written up by us.'
'But I will pay for the jabs, it only takes a couple of minutes.'
'But the nurse is fully booked. She can't do it. I don't even know if we have the drugs.'
'Can you find out?'
'Well, no. I'd have to ask her. And she can't fit you in.'
'But this is an emergency. I have never bothered you before in the three years I have lived here. Not with a snotty-nosed kid, not with depression, nothing. Never!'
'But we don't have your notes.'
'You don't need my notes.
Lots of people go to walk-in centres. You could telephone my doctor if you're worried about anything.'
'I don't have time to do that. Why don't you go to A&E if it's an emergency?'
'I'm sure they wouldn't classify a routine jab as an emergency. I mean, it's a global crisis. Millions of people are dying and you won't put yourself out to allow me to be seen by a nurse, not even a doctor, for five minutes?'
'No.'

Then she makes a mad leap from this to Castlebeck abuse.

What a complete and utter nob. She's clearly not very intelligent bless her. I'm sure her being on the front line will make a huge difference to the famine relief effort.......

Do you think she genuinely has this overweening sense of self-importance or it's just the only way she can make any money?

Stupid cow

Report
Greythorne · 31/07/2011 10:43

Her narcicissm knows no bounds. Why did she not have a go at her private GP's secretary for not being able to have all her jabs there?

And ehat in God's name is Liz Jines doing going to the Horn of Africa? She reports (badly) from the Paris couture. She tittle tattles abiut John Galliano's mental health. She argues with her neighbours and then publicly villifies them.

Her take on the famine is really not required.

oiwheresthecoffee · 31/07/2011 10:46

Oh God. Why would they inflict her on those poor people who are already suffering ?

Report
WilsonFrickett · 31/07/2011 10:50

Maybe they could eat her? Do us all a favour.

Report
TheMagnificentBathykolpian · 31/07/2011 10:51

hee hee I love how her list of virtues includes not smoking, not overeating, exercising every day and not having children

and in these ways she is not a 'burden'

hahaha. God love her, the silly mare.

And I love how she picked up the phone and expected to be seen that very day for an innoculation and how very unreasonable they were to not do it.

But oh my, how dreadful. If Liz Jones can't go to africa, however will any of us get to know what's happening there?

Oh yes, I know.

Because there are hundreds and hundreds of proper journalists out there who make her writing look like a 5yr old writing about what they did on their holiday.

SkipToTheEnd · 31/07/2011 10:56

Personally I think her not having children is virtuous :)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 31/07/2011 11:00

Since when were holiday jabs an 'emergency'? Her sense of entitlement is truly astounding.

Anyway. People without children are definitely going to have to rely on the state to look after them when they're elderly and gaga. I'm hoping at least one of my future sprogs will take care of me (notice I said 'hope' and not 'expect') or at least spike my tea with arsenic for me :-)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 31/07/2011 11:02

SkipToTheEnd - on the one hand true, because it avoids passing on those genes. On the other hand it's a shame, because maybe she'd go torment her offspring instead of us...?

Report
TheMagnificentBathykolpian · 31/07/2011 11:07

Are you kidding? If she had children we'd be subjected to badly written article after badly written article about how great a parent she is and stories about other, less fantastic, parents. And badly written article after badly written article about how her child walked at 6 weeks and was playing the piano to professional standard by six months and has just passed their Alevels a week before their first birthday.

Do you reckon she said 'do you know who I am?' down the phone?

Report
SkipToTheEnd · 31/07/2011 11:28

But makescakes we can choose to read something else - those poor children would have to suffer for years before they could escape on the back of a rescued dog.

And yes, think of the utter rubbish she could write about if she had kids

xales - I'd put good money on those words being screeched down the line!

Report
Thumbwitch · 31/07/2011 11:29

Unbelievable pile of shite. She seriously thinks that she can just squeeze her way into a packed surgery that day? Unreal.

It is a jolly good job she hasn't children, if you ask me.

Report
motherinferior · 31/07/2011 11:37

If she did have kids, she'd also spend a LOT of time writing about how she couldn't afford to pay their exorbitant school fees. (As sending them to a normal school would never occur to her.)

"Millions of people are dying" and you wont make one single difference to their lives Ms.Jones.
Why didn't you cut out the middle man. Donate what you would have spent directly on vaccination to the appeal; and not bother going. That way you would have contributed in a positive way; and not imposed your childish, indulgent personality on those that are coping with a real crisis.
