AIBU?

To have the Imperial March as birth music?

I will be having an ELCS in a couple of months and have just found out that I can take in a cd of music I want playing as DS3 comes out. My first comment was "excellent, Imperial March it is then!" and the midwife looked at me as if I had suggested playing the theme from the Omen.

AIBU to have Darth Vader's entrance music for when DS3 enters the world? I assume the whole point of having music is to relax me and keep my BP steady and I do find a good chuckle to be quite relaxing, plus it would be an amusing story for him to tell as he gets older. It doesn't have to be a choice between silence, whale song or Robbie bloody Williams doing Angels does it?

Love it!! :D I would just be using that lovely old chestnut of "my birth, my rules" and bloody well going for it. At full volume if at all possible!

Well why not? Have what makes you feel good.

I had a marvellous dentist who suggested that I listen to a tape on earphones, while she got on with her work. I am a nervous patient. It rather freaked her when I started chuckling with a mouthful of ironmongery. She had assumed I was listening to music - I was actually listening to Victoria Wood! But it worked for me. Grin

THat would be great - wish I'd thought of it!
Maybe warn the staff, you don't want them falling about laughing at the crucial moment Grin

I think that's brilliant!
Maybe she didn't know what it was?

I just figure it is the ultimate dramatic entrance music and seeing as how a c-section means I will know almost to the second when he will be coming out, there will never be a better time :)

I have got a bib that says 'Come to the dark side, we have cookies' as well

Fantastic idea! We had the Star Wars theme as the 'walking out of the ceremony' music at our wedding, much to the hilarity of our guests (except my poor father, who sat there, head in hands, mumbling something about me always having to test the limits of his patience...)

Superb. Although if your child develops into an Evil Genius, you will only have yourself to blame...

I think it's an excellent idea :D Wonder if they'd agree to me having music from Alien for mine, bump's been trying to replicate the chest bursting scene for weeks now...

And if you want the theme from The Omen go for that too!

A midwife doew one job, and a music critic does another, and a music critic would probably make a crap job of delivering babies, and . . . you get my drift.
