baring in mind the Sian Williams case less than 6 weeks ago????

I don't know if it's just because I'm being over sensitive as I know alot of people who live in Swindon and I spend a good 10yrs living there?

We didn't all watch Casualty. You may have to enlighten a few of us? Grin

I thought it was interesting - another beefy issue - just happens to be topical. These things happen weekly - daily, somewhere. When would they do it if the producers waited til it wasn't in the news on some level?

TV series can't just drop something because it may upset / offend people.

Yes it is bad timing but when would be a good time?

So - you spent some time living in Swindon and the bastard producers of Casualty didn't run the plotline by you first? Bastards.

Assume you mean Sian O'Callaghan, the young woman murdered by the taxi driver? Yes, does seem insensitive timing with the storyline.

Ok. What would be gained by rescheduling the episode? Anyone?

Yes BornInAfrica how bloody dare they!!! Ha ha!

Sorry yes not Williams brain fart time!!!

I thought it would be classed as bad timing in the same way as if they did a story line similar to Madaline McMcann so close to her disappearance because it's a high profile case......

I accept I'm flamed and being over sensitive to it!!

If they had to suspend soaps and dramas on TV for showing "sensitive issues" that "may offend" people then they would never be shown at all.

I think the Madeline McCann thing was a bit different to this tbh.

Having known Sian, and living in Swindon, the matter is still very fresh and raw to our town and I was very shocked and upset while watching Casualty last night.
I appreciate that it doesn't affect everyone and that the world must go on, but I would have thought that the BBC would have postponed this episode a little longer.
The case is still being looked into and it's possible that Chris Halliwell might have killed several other people in the past. All of the families with missing persons who are awaiting news would have found this very emotional to view.

While I agree the timing is not the best. However I got the impression from the show that the story was going to evolve around her religious beliefs, as the driver commented on her white boyfriend. And the fact that she had had a drink.

Actually just after Madeline McCann went missing this film http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452623/ was due to be released and was postponed

even more freaky is this....

Madeline
Amy

I think the storyline and the likeness is freaky. Especially the little girl.
