My god.

I think it is actually the worst film I've ever seen. Worse than New Moon (which was so boring I had to be reminded I'd actually seen it).

Even DH,who can usually find SOMETHING to enjoy about a film, was mimicking the droning deadpan bored Bella voiceover.

Edward is just an awful character, DH said, 'why woudl she be interested? He's dull as fuck and not very nice to her', so I went on a rant about how the books are MUCH worse in that respect.

I had a flicker of interst when Jacob took his top off, which thankfully happened a lot, but I dont' think I could even tell you the rest of what happened, it was so dull.

In our defence, it was on our DVD rental list, way down at the bottom.

I'm glad I didn't pay actual money to see it though. It was like a parody of itself.

AIBU?

Nope, I really don't get the attraction with the Twilight series, it's badly written, Bella comes across s a miserable cow - permanently, Edward is a patronising arsehole who is constantly banging on about her being reckless and it's all just very dull.

I really have tried to like it but I just can't.

I quite enjoyed it and DD loves twilight Saga but not 100% sure about her seeing the last film. I want to view it first before I let the kids loose on it

The Twilight series is well known throughout the world as one of the worst ones to ever appear and an insult to other novels/masterpieces out there, to be honest.

True, the movies are worse than the books, but the books themselves are well... dire. A main character whom is a depressing young girl (made in a way so that every girl out there can relate with her), with a depressing attraction to a sparkly vampire, and then she's okay with being you know, emotionally screwed over by said vampire etc. I won't go on.

Plus, have you seen the younger fans? They tend to be aggressive if you badmouth the story in any way. I'd love to tell you that's a joke, but it isn't.

I read one book and habe no interest in reading any more or seeing the films, the attraction has totally bypassed me.

I hate twilight. Dd loves it, has t-shirts, posters and a bag. Have been made to sit through all of them, but it makes her happy which is, I suppose, the main thing!

Did hear a wonderfully bad taste joke about it. Not sure it'd go down too well here though!

I like it, but you are wrong the worst film ever is stealth

DontCallMePrincess Fri 29-Apr-11 14:16:41

Nah, worst film ever is Cabin Fever.

The3Bears Fri 29-Apr-11 14:19:55

I really liked it smile blush

The worst film ever as open water.

But you're right about this being dire.

Why would anyone pick a freezing dead person who can't take you on a tropical beach holiday over a warm, well stacked guy? Jacob was the only reason I watched any of the others.

Quite liked reading the Twilight saga, got the film and WTF - mumble, mumble, scuffle, grunt...dire!
